Chicken Chef Salad, Artisan Bread, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!

It's Friday Night, and wife is craving a Chef's Salad..done deal! My touch was a loaf of excellent bread- followed by some killer peanut butter chocolate chip cookies...
The salad included Lettuce, with bacon, a sliced chicken, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, celery, carrots, hard cooked eggs, green onions, croutons, and dressing of choice- mine being blue cheese so thick you could walk on, and Ranch for wife..
The bread was a heat and serve designer loaf- which was excellent! Later, I found ambition enough to make cookies, which by the look of the keyboard this morning got eaten some more before I got up! They were crunchy rather than chewy- which we tend to prefer in a peanut butter cookie! What a nice Friday night supper! I hope your week end is great..enjoy life!

Buff-

are you having any trouble finding good Tomatoes. My fishing buddy is a farmer (Strawberries & Hot Peppers mostly) who lost all of his Romano tomatoes this past season?

You are one talented chef...and you have a way with tempting us all as we read each delectable description...I think you are one of the reasons (and watching Food Inc.)oh and the Culinary Smackdown too...for me taking a liking to cooking again...I used to be pretty special at it...and then lost my desire...especially after everyone was going in different directions, and some eating one thing and others not eating this or that or meat....it became frustrating...yes I have a vegan in the house...and a hubs who dosn't like veggies ..it becomes a bit of a chore with all that going on...have a great weekend..!

I need you to spend some time cooking at my place. I've been very uninspired yet there are all sorts of healthy things I'd love to eat provided someone else was making them.

I'm all for soft and mushy cookies though...

otin- Wife was all over them!
smArtee- I try to jump around..ruts are easy to fall into..
Brian- I like both, but peanut butter and crunchy go together!
ChefE- I remember that fork press too..
carma- I love other people cooking, but they never seem to be around!

Those cookies look fabulous! Are you posting the recipe? I hope?

I spent the afternoon yesterday working on two new recipes...and then will do a new appetizer this afternoon because my son is coming over and he is a great taste tester.
It's been a cooking weekend, but I tend to cook in spurts and then not do anything new and interesting for a couple weeks!

Kate- I get a blue cheese dressing, then add about 4 oz. of blue cheese to it!
Pam- I always freeze a cheese cake, so I always have a part of one on hand..
Uber- We like a Chef's salad a few times a year- always make it too big!
Ake- Wife is peanut butter addicted..
sheri- Yes, I do post recipes occasionally- happy to help!
Barb- I'm still looking for that magical peanut butter cookie too!

This all looks pretty tasty, BD. PB cookies are the only ones I make and I think they're the perfect cookie.

buffalodick said...

Tracie- For a cookie, they're healthy! Eggs, peanut butter...well so much for healthy!

buffalodick said...

Jingle- It covered the bases!
Vick- I make them once in a while- but they do hit the spot!

Jen said...

Mmmmmm...love a good salad...as long as it's not iceberg lettuce. Zero flavor and zero nutritional value.

I'd never get away with serving my old boy a chef salad for dinner unless I added a steak and potato too. He'll eat a salad every night but would not call it a meal without the meat and spud.

Several times a year I'll have my friend come for lunch. I'll often make a chef salad adding just about everything I find in the refridge or a sometimes Ill serve up a stuffed tomato salad. I like a good aspic too...she doesn't. She does beg me to make her p-nut butter cookies. She says all she wants (from me) for Christmas is p-nut butter cookies and a quart or two on my home-made soup. Last week she took a quart of my chow mein home.

Do you think she's using me? LOL

The salad and bread you served looks perfect. I like blue with a bit of homemade french on mine. Nice treat.

I wonder if you'd like a p-nut butter cookie with butterscotch chips and bits of pecans? My bunch loves them.

J.J.- I use Heath bar bits instead of those butterscotch chips..they taste soooo fake! I like people you like what I cook! Use me!
