Mother's Day Brunch 2010
As I mentioned in my comments on the previous post, there was nothing to take a photo of yesterday! It rained all the way there, with wind gusts that kept both hands on the wheel! The Casino was fairly busy, but had added a non-smoking room separate from the rest of the casino floor..kind of nice for the non smokers!
Today, I fixed my wife and youngest son a brunch, as he had to work this afternoon.. We had bacon, scrambled eggs, English muffins, with orange juice.. Our son in K.C. sent mom flowers, and the youngest brought her candy. A good breakfast, a phone call from Kansas City, and a visit from the youngest son, all made for a nice day for their Mom.. That and I let her keep the money she had from yesterday!
Hope your Mother's Day is a good one!

you are sweet letting her keep her winnings- or were there no winnings? ;-)
You have raised some sweet boys - Hope you wife has a delightful day :-)
Glads is been a high roller day for her!
I got a bowl of cereal and am happy, he has arms to carry it and hug me...
Thank You....Awww you are very sweet...!!!Happy Day to your Wife..!
That was nice of you (to let her keep her winnings, that is)!
carma- No overall winnings, but we had $100 left, so she kept it!
ChefE- She's out mowing the grass- I do the cooking!
smArtee- Well, whatever we got seems to work!
Fingers- She doesn't ask for much, so she usually gets it!
That sounds like two good days it a row. What a delicious brunch!
BlueV- Traditional breakfast food- but high quality bacon, eggs scrambled, pulp free orange juice and peanut butter on her English muffins- all favorites of the Mom!
Breakfast sounds good, keeping the cash from the casino and enjoying time with family always makes for a wonderful Mother's Day.
did i read you right...you 'let' her keep the money?? as in 'i usually wrestle her to the ground outside of the casino and rip her winnings out of her hands before letting her ride home in the car instead of on the roof'??? buffalo, we gotta talk...otherwise EVERYONE is gonna be talking ;)
by the way, the breakfast you made looked fabulous!
Great looking breakfast. Glad to hear you had some dollars left!
Velva- I would be nice to have both my boys home for this, but the eldest is too busy in K.C.
sheri- Tell you a secret...we got back 3+ grand from the Feds from our tax return!
Highlander- Some left from our initial pile...
Thanks buffalodick,
Have a Blessed Day at your Home!!
John

BACON !!!
Heff- My wife, son, and dog will all beg for bacon!
sounds like a great way to start your mothers day! hope it was extra special for your wife!
Brian- She enjoys her sons..me- once in a while!
The poker rooms are all non-smoking and have become my favorite part of the casino.
Thanks for the Mother's Day greetings and the same back to the Mother of your sons. It's a great day in May and next month we can celebrate all the great Dad's out there too.
Bacon...oh yum.
J-
But you know, I am liking this new non-smoking in restaurant law we have... As per your comment in Jen's blog about partying down the river, was that on the Muskegon, by chance?
loved bacon in your plate,
I try it on rare occasions...
Happy Belated Mother's Day to Moms in your family!
Sounds like your Sunday (Mother's Day) was good.
I had a Mother's Day cookout and I old burned ONE hotdog beyond recognition. The rest survived. All in all, it was a nice cookout, although Mother Nature must have had a bad day becuase she was cold and breezy. LOL
Very nice breakfast - glad her day was nice and there was money left after the fun.
Jen- This was a new one just added, and it was nice..
J.J.- Father's Day isn't the big deal Mother's Day is...
sage- Canoes down the Pine, Little Manistee, White, and tubing down the Muskegon.. I actually had a floating, inflatable cooler!
Jingle- I'd rather have sausage!
R.L.L.- At least the sun came out on Sunday..
Vick- Later that day, I made her another favorite of hers- tuna salad sandwiches...
You're so sweet to her!
She won? Marvelous! Nice that your sons were so attentive...they love their mom!
Anything that got cooked around here yesterday was done by me! Kids all scattered but I heard from everyone, one way or another. Flowers and candy. Nice.
Worked out, balanced check book and read.
ZYour so sweet!
BlondeD- She's pretty good to me, you know...
Barb- Kids move away these days..to greener pastures..
Darngirl- I have my moments...few and far between!
You LET her keep the money? Who said chivalry was dead?
Very nice brunch Buff! I don't I was fed breakfast yesterday...
Kath- I would love to cook for you someday.. I would let you repay the favor!
