From Contestant To Judge

Recently, my wife was asked by a co-worker if we would judge a chili cookoff held by their church. As my wife has a vocabulary that doesn't include "No", we were booked to judge today. I was warned they have never had a chili contest, and the categories reflected that! Hottest, Sweetest, Homestyle were new ones on me. I also warned them of a possible lightning strike on the building, as I haven't been a regular visitor in these structures. It went pretty well, as there were no really bad(or good!)chilis to pick from. As they had a little prize for just about everybody, no one was bitching about the judges. God Bless Prilosec!

Quasi humorous happenings that day-
A group of young kids entered "sweetest" catagory with a recipe that included melted Milkyway Bars, and apple slices, served cold. I was not expecting any of the above in chili and said"Whosf tha wase guy?"(mouth was still full).
Another moment was a nice lady entered a Chili Verde which wasn't too bad. Afterwards mentioned a little more heat would have helped-she replied "I used 2 drops of hot sauce, and didn't dare more".Wild Woman!!
One of the winners used buffalo-guess who I voted for?

Nothing is worse than trying to find something nice to say about churchlady's middle of the road chili!
Now the milky way chili is sounding pretty good
