Well, Here We Are.. Mini-mime, Two Questions..

Through blogging, I have been exposed to many different people, and different thoughts.. This has been, as I expected- a wonderful thing! All of us have found at least one great truth about life.. This is your time to share it!
First question:
1. What was life supposed to be.
2. What wasn't it supposed to do to you...
Here's my answers..
Life did not happen because you wanted it to, it was thrust upon you, by Nature, that had a whole different agenda..
I believe we are charged with a commitment to propagate our species, but not until the planet shows clearly we can not sustain a quality of life that shows intelligence through controlling over-population...

This is far too much thinking for a Monday.

That's my answer: That being vertical on Monday IS enough. There are plenty of other days for ruminating.

Life is supposed to be an ongoing experiment of sorts to find true self-happiness and share good with others.

didnt we answer this one before? Life is about living for the moment, sure you plan for the future but the future is just the advancement of moments and I dont know about the 'was' past tense - life IS and when it stops then it IS NOT. Whatever life 'does to you' is part of your karma, hang-ups or whatever it is that allows things to 'do' things to you, people are entirely capable of shaping their lives anyway they want to but most dont.

Life's aim has been intrinsic. Hence it has no aim other than itself. It has within itself, to grow, expand, to celebrate, to love etc. These are all aspects of life.Life, contains everything that is needed. Moreover, it needs no proof. In the whole history of mankind, there has never been ( or will ever be) a single thinker, who can deny life.
There is nothing Life did, that it wasn't supposed to do. In fact, it did everything that was supposed to be just as it was, since life has no end other than itself! Life has a way of controlling even the population ( check Malthus theory)in its own peculiar ways. And we remain alive, till existence needs us to be there to serve its purpose, to play our individual roles in propagating it!

Too deep for me at the moment. I'll pinch a phrase

"I think, therefore I am!"

I don't think I have any pre-conceived notions on what life should be....

However, I am very clear on what it should not be...it should not be filled with regret and negativity. I am working hard to remove bad "karma" from my life.

Life was suppose to shower me with money and lots of hot naked woman!

Life was not suppose to give me divorce a messed up right arm and a sucky job.

But just to add I thank life for my great family my beautiful daughter and all the awesome friends that I have made over the years and I am very happy to have all that!

finn- There is a reason for this "out there" post... Hope to explain soon..
sornie- I hope you're right..
DogB- My expectations and disapointments of life changed as I grew older...
Mona- As always, thoughtful and well said.. Just lately I have been feeling like I must start grabbing some life before it's too late..
Ake- or, "We are, until we are not"..
michelle- I could have phrased this differently, but you got what I was looking for... Young, you envision the future as limitless, as you grow older you realize if you achieve your goals quickly, you'd better get some new ones- to have purpose..
VodkaM- One of my platitudes " I used to give a shit, but Life beat that out of me"..
G-man- You've seen them too?
rog- I am usually pretty upbeat, but I definitely need a change of scenery..

Life was supposed to be one big bowl of cherries and Iw as supposed to find a man who loved me totally and completely and we would have wonderful kids who would grow up to be wonderful people.

Life IS four kids, by two different dads, three marriages, I still don't like my mother, I never got to know my father, and I wonder why I can't be happy.

I'm sure it's ALL my mom's fault! ;-)

bina- Disappointments and thrills are life... you just don't know which one is next!
Ake- I look forward to it!
Tanya- Parents tell you oodles of stuff you never will use, and don't try to disillusion you about your future- because yours might be better than theirs was..

It was supposed to be straight forward, or so I thought. It has been an adventure, which has taught me quite a lot, for which I am thankful.

jen- It sounds like you have gotten to see quite a bit of life for your young age... That will help as you live your life to a ripe old age!
romi- I'm fond of saying "What if I would have turned left that day, instead of right?" Sounds like you've read Tolkien and the poem "The Road Goes Ever On and On".
marmy- I believe it's gene pool, environment, education, personal choices, and luck- bad or good! But for a short answer, that was pretty good!

Expect the unexpected!

tavolini said...

This one is tricky to me...life is what you make of it. And its pretty darn good, for the most part.

As I'm still alive, I can't quite tell you what life isn't ;)

buffalodick said...

casdok- Good to see you are still part of life! I don't usually like surprises.. wrong kind too many times!
Tavolini- Still young, the optimist in you usually rules..philosophy usually comes along later..

tavolini said...

Perhaps--yet I feel one can be 'optimistically philosophical' too. I mean, there's been bumps on the road. Big ones. I'd still rather be living and appreciating it, wouldn't you?

Memories and past experiences are necessary--they help us better comprehend--and enjoy today.

(if you aren't careful, I'm going to break into some Grass Roots)Live for Today lyrics in about 30 seconds...)

buffalodick said...

Tav- You two are thoughtful and wise for your ages.. I simply warn the young that life, after birth, becomes a force that takes rather than gives- trading wisdom and peace with for what will be the final payment.. Cycle of Life is a good thing.

Helene said...

wow what varied responses you got here! Glass half full to half empty! lol

I think life is what it is...the experience of being alive.

What we do with our life is our decision and we live with the consequences of those decisions/choices for good or bad.

I think too many people are willing to settle for less than they really want or think they deserve in life... I believe that you can have or do just about anything in life if you are willing to work and sacrifice to get/do it.

Just my opinion though. Worth all of 2 cents! *wink
