Friday- A Humble Meal For Tired People..

This was not an easy week for me, or my wife- for different reasons! I am dealing with an on going anemia issue, and my wife has been dealing with final exams on her Pharmacy Tech certification.. The good news is, all is progressing in the right direction! She passed with flying colors! Friday night used to be the night to howl... Then it became the night to sit and relax with friends... Now it's "Where's my damn robe, I'm going to crash right after dinner!".. I never thought a nice Friday night would include home made soup, a little bread and butter, and turning off the God built computer called our brain! Tonight, I finally got around to using the chicken and broth I had made earlier this week. Imagine a killer chix broth, chopped carrots, celery, sliced mushrooms, slivered chicken, and white and wild rice in a soup- with seasonings! Served with bread and butter(real deal!) on the side.. I bet you're relaxing too, right now- after reading that.. Enjoy your week ends.. and if you get a moment, please visit deb (Olive, The Other Relish!) She could use a hug or two today...

Anemia = not fun at all. Glad to hear of your wife's success. Do you have a link for Olive as I can't see her on your sidebar?
Cheers

mona- Liked your 55 today, and I do indeed feel the need for rest..
Maddy- I don't do a lot of that stuff, but if you check my past posts, you will find her.. A hug from you would be wonderful to her right now..

Get some rest Buffalo, why can't you get your Iron up? My mom almost diedfrom a bleeding ulcer not too long ago and she ate liver and onions daily to get her iron up. I couldn't eat liver, but it really very good for you if you can stomach it

Very nice use of the chicken. Soup is definitely restorative.

That sounds like the perfect meal for a Friday night just before you sink into the sofa and start zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing!

InsaneM- Something I've been working on, but haven't followed all of doctor's orders...
DogB- One of my lazy leftover creations...
VodkaM- Relaxing sounds good right now...
leezee- I'm a typical guy... Healthy usually means feeling better and being bored...
lanny- It was raining cats and dogs here, so soup hit the spot!
Ake- I was gone by 9pm...!

I'm a soup person... yup! Nothing makes me feel better than a good bowl of steaming goodness.

anndi- Well, I bet you do have something that make you feel better than soup, but we won't talk about it here! First strike smooch..

My sister had anemia when she was a kid.

We all suffered and ate liver for dinner at least once a week so she could build her iron count.

No amount of ketchup or onions and bacon could mask the disgusting taste.

Happy Birthday to the Wife.

romy- I'll make you sauteed calf's liver some day that will change your mind!

Do not even feel bad. That "Where's my damn robe, I'm going to crash right after dinner!" comment---that is me right now! I can't wait till my poor little body finally adjusts to my new schedule!!
