Sunday Dinner, Rainy, Warm, and Done on the Smoker-Grill!

I had a boneless rib roast in my freezer, begging to be cooked for today! Seasoned with rosemary, garlic, sea salt, coarse ground black pepper, soaked in Worcestershire sauce, and olive oil.. it was ready to go on the smoker... Propane provided the heat, charcoal and hickory wood provided the smoke! 4lbs., 3 hrs., just about right!Prime was a little past my favorite- med. rare, but still tasty Bake some Yukon Gold Potatoes, and steam some asparagus, set out rolls, and we're there! Dessert of course! Tomorrow is my wife's birthday, so we probably will go out with son and GF... They refuse to miss a free meal!

Note to self: If Vodka Mom and Buffalo extend dinner invitations at the same time, always go to Buffalo's house!

DogB- Sunday dinner is the main meal of the day! In the God Blessed Midwest..
marmy- Roast beef! And if you don't post soon, I will be done with you! Dear, that would break my heart forever- then two hearts will be lost...
vodka mom- I would never, ever say that. But Jebus! Think of the young-uns..
jeff- She is closer regionally to you than I am... You must talk her off that ledge soon!

Three hours! At what temperature do you cook it? That is a LONG time!

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Buf! :)

Do take some photos!

Mona-It was about a 4 pounder, smoked and cooked at about 260F- I little high for normal BB-Q (220F), but I was running out of time! Ended up more done than I had hoped...

You smoked that beautiful piece of meat? Does that mean that it's not medium rare?

Can you send some so I can taste it?

Happy Birthday to Mrs. B.

Sunday was a day where propane comes in handy.

I had a hell of a time with my charcoal fire...G

Finn- Most restaurants buy their prime rib slow cooked by a food service supplier- they just heat it up! I cooked mine longer than I wished and it was medium- but still was tender and flavorful!
G-man- I had trouble getting my hicory/charcoal flavor pan going!

Looks like it's perfectly done to me! You always cook the best Sunday Dinners!

Yesterday we had Boston Butt cooked all day in the crockpot, brussel sprouts, rosemary focacia, sweet potatoes and cherry pie!

Ake- It wasn't bad, but I wish I would have cut that into steaks and grilled them- quicker and more controllable!
R.L.L.- Sounds great, but I would have to pass on the Brussel Sprouts!
Rog- You love photography, and I love to cook!
Mona- Thank you! I wish that for you too!
