A Little Misc. Food...
Monday, I did find a photo of the POM BBQ pork tenderloin I took before the batteries died! We had a simple side of buttered spiral pasta, thinking less is better than overkill this time!
Tuesday night, I made simple cheesy pasta shells, with 4 cheeses blended into a sauce, and seasoned with Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and a dash of liquid hot sauce. It was simple, yet hit the spot!
Wednesday, I just didn't feel like cooking, as wife was going to be late from work..so it was a bucket of crunch from KFC....It wasn't bad, but quite a bit of leftovers to deal with...
Thursday, I made a cheesy hash brown casserole, that contained the remaining chicken- without its coating, and torn into bite sized pieces. Worked pretty good!
The sun has shone brightly every day this week- but still reflecting off a lot of snow!
Michigan's State bird is the robin, and it usually means Spring is close when you see your first one of the season. That hasn't happened yet!
Tonight, sliced pork tenderloin BBQ sandwiches should seal the fate of this weeks leftovers!
Enjoy your weekends, everybody!

I can't wait to master the grill this spring. I've always been afraid of it, so I'm going to face my fear and DO IT.
Charred meat and vegetables will be coming your way...
I love that you never waste anything and whatever you do with the leftovers always sounds so good!
I will have to try a dash of hot sauce on my cheesy pasta - I'm always jonesing for spicy food!
We had a large flock of robins descend on our bird bath earlier this week. Mr. H keeps a little heater in the water for the winter birds and deer. It always makes us hopeful for spring when we see them - but I'm sure we'll see more snow up here.
When I have one of those "I don't feel like cooking" days I always end up with a Lean Cuisine. Boring I know, but I always keep a couple in the freezer. I've been a pretty healthy cook this week, meat and veggies every night. Well, except for one of my rhubarb muffins last night! Can't always be good!
Kate- Cavemen could cook over fire..you will do just fine!
Ake- Married to a Dutch descended woman..I got Dutch blood too! Waste not, want not..
Vick- Michigan has seen worse than this year, but I really hate the snow these days...
Barb- I like to cook for others, and this time of year- no one is up for a feast! St. Paddys and Easter will kick off the food season again!
I'm thinking of cooking and baking this weekend. I have a ton of work to do too, so lets see how time accommodates for everything. Mmmmm KFC, haven't had it in ages!
Jen- KFC always sounds better than it tastes! I do like their cole slaw, though...
mmm...the cheesy hashbrowns with KFC chicken in them sounds marvelous...will have to try that add...
Brian- Remember the Russian tale of "Stone Soup"? That's me and leftovers!
My mom used to make shells...they were one of my favorites!
Michelle- Pasta is pasta to me, some shapes hold sauce better! No leftovers, thank God..
We all need a little miscellaneous food in our lives. Mine usually appears at lunch time.
thanks for sending sunshine my way; we've had it 2 days running! Our snow has melted down to only about a foot deep. Son from SC with new girlfriend had better hurry to get here if she wants to see deep snow for the first time in her life!
A comforting description of your week, makes me crave for leftovers!!
marjie- I want to break loose- and BBQ!
Ruth- Something that grounds us, when we remember no matter how much we have, to be sharing and frugal is how we got as much as we have...
Just within the last 4 - 5 days Denver has seen their first wave of Robins. All males. Robins migrate in groups at night and one early morning on the way to work, I saw about 40 new arrival males underneath a big pine tree poking around for food. Sure enough, the next day another group seen at another location. Just yesterday a male has taken up residence in our back yard. I've been feeding him apples to keep him around. So Buff, they are on their way!

Your Favorite Birdwatcher
Highlander- You give me hope! That's all I will ever ask, is reason to get up in the morning!
The bbq sandwiches tonight sound good. I haven't spied a robin yet either. It's still very cold out there too!

not yet spring! we have a sweltering summer here!
We had our first robin sighting here in the NE. Yippee! We are heading up to our land today (Sat.) - I'm going to scatter some wild flower seeds along the road front. TBHITW wants me to bring hot dogs and he wants to build a fire to roast them in... LOL... happy weekend and all your meals sound so darn good!

The daytona 500 is the first sign of spring here! LOL

Ha I was just reading your blog too! Too funny.
The cheese sauce sounds great. I might have to add pasta to dinner tonight.
Martha- I'm not much of a joiner ..no offense, but I spent a lifetime of being a part of many things..kind of a loner these days. I do enjoy writing posts, and reading others!
Chris- You gain skills as you learn, but to maintain passion to do it can wax and wane..I'm older than you, and I miss the passion you have, and wish I could find it more often!
sign me up for those cheesy pasta shells - I bet they are zesty with the added secret ingredients...
Oh no! The master went to KFC?? Nooooooo!
I don't suppose you deliver? Gosh, that looks real good!
Thanks!
Robins have been around here for about a week.
Poor Bastards!
Good job incorporating those KFC leftovers. I would have thrown them out, as I always feel so guilty eating that stuff.
Hey B-D, sorry i haven't been around awhile... just a hiccup, not a decision. I moved 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Finally, we are in our permanent temporary home, so getting organized.
Starting today, should be back daily...
unless I am trying new rum drinks!

Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and a dash of hot sauce...sounds like a winning combo. Wonder what else I could mix that into!
