Saturday, Then Sunday Food! Hope You Enjoy!

Saturday- Wife had to work(tax season), and I was tired of the weather we had to deal with daily! Finally went to store for a stock-up- as my comfort zone is similar to your neighborhood survivalist! Made a hearty salad for Sat. night, and had plans to finally cook that damn pork loin that apparently came off Hogzilla! I enjoy a chef salad with lots of non- healthy goodies covering it.. Slathered mine in my favorite blue cheese dressing, while wife opted for Ranch. We both agreed-it hit the spot! Sunday had me putting the marinated pork loin(cut into two equal portions!) into the oven for about 2-1/2 hrs. Yukon Gold potatoes, cut in half(seasoned with rosemary, olive oil, garlic, and onion powder) made a marvelous side to a great hunk of pork! The roasted mushrooms are always alomost a given when I roast meat.. Stroked some peanut butter thru the brownies, for a dessert that was also tasty!
A sad commentary on my cooking style- I seasoned the pork so it could be used as pork BB-Q, or pork chili leftover meals!

Oh yummy! We had a traditional Sunday Roast today - a huge leg of lamb and as there was only us two I'm using the leftover lamb to make a Rogan Josh tomorrow.

Im highly allergic to pork and any of its friends, but me lads love pork, so they sometimes have it, I just have to be careful when handling it.....

We had lunch at our church today. One of the men's SS classes, had their annual emphasis on world hunger and provided BEANS AND CORNBREAD to anyone who cared to portake. Considering the reason for the meal, I don't guess I would exchange it but....

Your meal looks DELICIOUS!!

I'm a blue cheese person myself. It kind of negates the salad when you dump some blue cheese all over it but boy does it taste good!

Did I say it before? You're the kind of man every woman dreams of having in her kitchen. I'm dreaming.

Marmy- You ate a chicken? I hope you had your two pets locked out when that happened! Sounds lke a great meal, though!
in_spired- nice thought, but I would have made a donation and gotten some real food later....
DogB- I looked it up and it does sound pretty tasty!
Snow- Have half left, waiting to become BB-Q...
har- lettuce sucks- blue cheese helps!
odat- It was a great day to stay inside! Watched about 4 movies!
Pink- Not my favorite cut of pork, but it can be quite good- if you don't overcook it!
bina- When I make a salad, it doesn't end up looking like rabbit food!
Sherry- A doggy bag or a Doggy blog? Check out doggybloggy for good eats, too!
annie- You want a guy throwing everyone out of the kitchen while he cooks? I'm your man!
R.L.L.- I ate light two days in a row, and the world didn't end... I would have never believed it!
Tav- Blue cheese is pure good- pork ain't bad...
sornie- warm up the peanut butter a bit and just add to normal brownies- good stuff!

If I eat pork it has to be well done, yours sounds just how Queenie likes it. Now mushrooms, I just love fun-guys (get it)?

Rog- These are smaller than the normal Yukon Gold, but irt is a softer, richer potato with a yellow flesh that can be roasted or mashed similar to a small redskin- but better texture-I think. Idaho Russets are still the baked potato King!
Ake- Thanks! I go look in a minute!
Queenie- Pork has to be done all right, not overcooked until dry! "Fun guy"- my cornball brother-in-laws favorite line about mushrooms!
