Time For A Mini-Meme! A Little Longer Than Normal..

We all have been part of an incredible feast at one time or another..and they are memorable for all the good reasons!
Today, I want you all to plan a five course meal, made from your favorite food dishes you may have had! Me first, as usual...
1. An appetizer, like crab stuffed mushroom caps- with cheese, of course!
2. A seafood bisque, using shell fish
3. A chef's salad, with all the ingredients, topped with a blue cheese dressing, jacked up with Maytag Blue, crumbled..
4. Rib-eye steak, medium rare- prime, mind you! a side of Au Gratin potatoes on plate would be nice..
5. Dessert, Key lime pie
P.S. After dinner drink- a Stinger, then haul me away, a happy man!
How about you? Let's hear your dream meal!

2. Terrific bread basket refilled to go with all courses
3. Shrimp cocktail
4. Caesar Salad
5. Second bottle of wine
6. Surf and Turf - steak and lobster with twice baked potatoes, crisp fresh veggies.
7. Chocolate swirl cheesecake
8. Last but not least, a great cup of cappuccino

Now I'm hungry! Have a great weekend :-)

Let's see...

Perfectly seared ahi tuna paired with a glass of champagne.

Cream of Wild Mushroom soup finished with truffle oil

A salad of roasted baby heirloom beets, goat cheese and toasted walnuts

A rare ribeye with sauteed spinach and wild mushrooms paired with the fattest glass of Petite Sirah

And for dessert a tasting of assorted dark chocolates and a glass of port.

Appetizer: Fried artichoke hearts
Salad: Caesar
Soup: Beer Cheese Soup
Main: Surf/Turf (Fillet with gorgonzola sauce, king crab) w/ roasted asparagus and grits
Dessert: Watching my beloved enjoying a creme brulee (I don't do dessert)

A G & T, light on the ice
Appetizer: steamed mussels
Salad: With endive, dried cherries or cranberries, pecans, gorgonzola and a light fruity dressing
A nice pinot noir
Main: Herbed rack of lamb with roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus
Dessert: a lemon tart
Chamomile tea
(The days of stingers are OVER. Our gang used to drink them after dinner(on the rocks, of course) and long into the night. Those were some good times!)

Hm...I'll have what you're having! :)

Serioulsy, the shrooms with cheese sound wonderful. If the soup were tomato, I'd be happier. The steak done medium would be nice and a fudgy chocolate cake or souffle would make a perfect dessert.

PS - It's almost bedtime and you have me hungry for a five-course meal! I'd be as big as a house if you cooked for me!! lol

lol - this is a "feast" I've actually done (medieval feast for 120).

First remove - choice between beef&barley broth or vegetable soup - served with cobs of bread

Ricotta & parsley pastries

sweet apple slices dusted with sugared cinnamon

Second remove -
Roast Lamb served with green sauce

Roast Beef served with white sauce (green is a herb & vinegar / white is almond milk & garlic)

turnips in butter & mustard sauce

Beans & Carrots served with almond flakes

Vegetable risotto

Third remove

Cherry Tarts

Pear, Honey & Walnut tarts (served with normal cream or cherry cream)

Hungry yet? :)

I never eat in courses. The most that I do is a salad before a meal, otherwise I am strictly a one item guy!

Momster- Not too bad at all! Good selection!
Chris- Intriguing! A nice combo, well balanced!

Kate- Take a flight of fantasy- it's free and fun!
Pam- good, sensible choices..simple things done well is my motto!

Ake- You are the Brits, on their best behavior! Sharing a meal with you, would be a lot of fun!
otin- I am like that most days..but some days, you have to relax and make food an event!

I need time to think of this, I am still not feeling up to 'tummy' eating, but I like the suggestions other have given...lobster soup, wine, crab cakes, wine, prime rib, wine, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and of course a good glass of single malt scotch...my dream meal at this moment! I think someone would have to tuck me in to bed after that, lol!

I am stuffing a butterflied leg of lamb for hubby and guest tomorrow, my first 'out side the box' recipe, so we will see what happens...I may have them fill out a mini-meme form just for fun since you inspired me!

3) Fettucini alfredo with seasoned grilled chicken and fresh broccoli.

4) Chocolate Mousse cake. (Though your key lime pie also sounds delicious!! :))

5) Coffee

Totally going Italian today. :)

1. Start off with a cosmo to whet my appetite (Using Cointreau, of course, and not that crappy Triple Sec)
2.Frisee salad with truffle oil and crispy fingerling potato "croutons"
3. Moist, roasted seitan with a mustard-based sauce and mushrooms
4. on the side: spaetzle and broccoli rabe with plenty of garlic
5.Dessert: Sticky toffee pudding with dulce de leche soy ice cream
6. After dinner digestivo: Sambuca with a flaming coffee bean. Sublime
