Happy Valentine's Day, Our Way.-500th Post!

This is my 500th post! I am so happy to have met you all! Happy Valentine's Day to all! First, I would like to comment on Tavolini- they are getting married today! How romantic is that!!! I bless them both, as they are good people in deep, real love...I know these things.. Second, Otin and Blue Violet have found a bond I really think will last, forever.. Today is about love and caring..skeptics may leave now.
I have cared deeply for my wife and the mother of my children, for 36-1/2 years- she is the only woman that could put up with the likes of me. I am a load. I am a man's man..always playing cards, drinking too much, friendlier than I should be..but I always came home. Ladies and men..We won't change! Find someone that knows who you are. and accepts you as you are.. If we were perfect, they'd nail us to a cross.
The rest of this post will be food!
Valentine's Day is more of a weed-end with us.. it lasts longer than one day! my wife's favorite meal is stuffed pork chops,so Friday, that's what I bought and fixed..
I had high hopes for today, as far as a menu goes..Such are the plan of mice and men..What we ended up with is a dish of scallops, sauteed and seasoned, with a stupidly complicated salsa that was so good, along with rice..well, you had to be there.. I gave my wife a box of locally made chocolates, and she gave me a couple of needed shirts! I spoil her, and she looks out for me! Love is not about one day..It's about a lifetime..learn it, live it! My folks only made 64 years.. I hope my wife and I beat that record! May the good Lord bless you like I have been blessed!
May all have love in their lives, for all to see!
P.S. I used papaya, mango, pineapple, POM juice, and chili spices to create the best fruit salsa you ever had! This, with any seafood, is killer! POM is the Bomb!

After reading that I'm a little speechless. Congrats on 500! That fruit salsa sounds like a winner. Spoiling her and her taking care of you sounds like a match made in heaven. This is a great post Buff! Happy Valentine's Day to you.

Hope you're having a happy Valentine's Day, Buff!! ♥, Ily

I just love real love! There is nothing like settled, comfortable, deep, easy going, trusting love. I'm one of the lucky ones who has that too - even if I do want to hit him in the head with a frying pan most days ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your wife, wishing you many, many more!

Oh and happy 500 posts! The food sounds delicious!

Lovely post about your love for your wife Buff. She probably thinks she's as lucky having you as you thank your lucky stars having her. :)

Happy 500th! (How many times do you get to say something like that?)
And such a lovely posting to celebrate it, too. A fine tribute to your wife and your marriage, which is filled with love and understanding.
My parents made it to 72 years before they both passed away. Unfortunately, I only made it to
16. C'est la vie.
Sounds like you did some good eating over the weekend. Hope you got a little Olympic-watching in as well.

We are pretty lucky guys to have such special women.

LMAO over the "stupidly complicated salsa" comment.

Great post - moving, humorous and delicious all in a few paragraphs. My favorite line, " I am a load. I am a man's man..always playing cards, drinking too much, friendlier than I should be..but I always came home. " Well said!
Congrats on your 500th!

Highlander- The salsa was killer, but took so long- we are going to have the crab bisque tonight!
DogB- One more recipe to do from POM- BBQ sauce!
Ily- Brown gravy for stuffing, bacon to add flavor and help keep it moist..
Martha- We've had our moments of strife, believe me..but life kind of beats it out of you!
Momster- Glad I met you too!
Jules- Tonight a sweet pepper corn crab bisque..We were too full for it yesterday!
Pam- I have my moments..but they pass quickly!
BlueV & otin- I had no idea! Of course, a bank robbery could go on while I was at the bank, and I wouldn't know it! Good Luck to the both of you!
Griller- I bought them made up at a butcher shop..appeared to be bread crumbs, celery, and onions, all highly seasoned..best I've had by somebody else!
Ruth- I hope so too...thanks!
Ake- I got the better deal on our marriage!
Angela- Not to, would have been certain death!
Barb- 72! Wow! I'm not much for the winter games, but love the Summer Olympics!
Kate- A lot of what marriage is about is making it work..
Chris- Clean a Mango, a papaya, a pineapple, pick out just the right hot sauce(Tiger Sauce!) add POM, chili spices(chili powder, cumin, mexican oregano, garlic, onion)mix and chill..it really was good, but jeez- what a lot of work!

Vickie- I was in specialty metal sales for 35 years- with a free car and an expense account..it was my part of my job to eat, drink, play golf, go to ball games, etc. It created a guy that was alone 6 hours a day traveling, and when I wasn't alone, I was expected to be the cruise director of whatever was going on.. It shapes you into what you are.

Who'd've thought our friend Buff was mushy deep down inside? Well, at least before I went for surgery, my husband warned the neurosurgeon not to harm me in any way. Mine, too, is the epitome of Alpha Male, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Glad you had a great day. We're closing in on 31 years, and it feels like both forever and brand new love, all at the same time. Yeah, yeah, I'll stop being mushy, too.

How sweet!!!! I'm so glad you found your perfect match and you spoil her with such tasty meals!

buffalodick said...

Margie- Women should like men that get the job done, but realize men and women are(Thank God!) are different, and were designed that way!
BlondeD- The meals are good, but sometimes taken for granted..a few days of not cooking usually cures it!

Well great minds think alike- I bought some pork ribs and had thought adding POM to the BBQ would be a nice touch, and you have confirmed that!
