Mini-Meme Time! Try It, It's Fast And Painless..

About once a month, I throw out a two question challenge that anyone can do, if they wish.. It usually has a theme, and participation is easy and fun!
Here we go..
1. If you had only one meal you could eat-for the rest of your life everyday, what would it be?
2. If you had one last meal to eat, before you left this world, what would it be?
Show you how it works, if you haven't done this before..
1. Grilled cheese sandwiches.. I've never gotten tired of them(but probably would!)
2. King crab, with drawn butter, pasta in Alfredo sauce, corn on the cob, yeast rolls- and for dessert, Key Lime Pie... Kill me now, please!
Have some fun with this- they always make you think, but not too hard!

OK, I'll take the challenge

1;) Potato Pancakes... My traditional Christmas Morning meal with my wife.

2;) Is it cheating to name a location... That restaurant on the middle of the Eiffel Tower with an unlimited budget... If that's cheating, how about a specific meal at a location ... Say A Hot dog and beer at Wriggly Field the night of the 7th game of the world series (that they win, and I was seated in the outfield bleachers as Ernie Banks comes out of retirement to hit the game winning homerun right into my hands)... And if that's cheating... Scotch, neat and onion rings; I'm dieing for Christ's sake what do I care what I'm gonna eat

Let's face it, our last meal will be some goo fed through a tube... if we live too long, and don't die trying to enjoy life!

UBERMOUTH said...

1. salad and seafood with chocolate cheese cake for dessert.

2. The same.obviously.

But I really love donair kebabs.

buffalodick said...

Uber- What are donair kebabs? Really..

Everyday: Home made fried chicken, mashed potatoes with creamy chicken gravy. You might as well throw on a side of macaroni and cheese, so I can "really" gain the weight.

Now that I'm obese and dying of clogged arteries from the above daily meal: Last Meal: A cheeseburger with a perfectly toasted buttered bun, with a baked potato topped with Sour Cream and chives, a beautiful green salad topped with shredded mozarella cheese and chunky blue cheese dressing.

GREAT, now I'm hungry.

buffalodick said...

Highlander- Well done! Skinny people eat to live, the rest of us live to eat!

Mike said...

Pizza would have to be the choice for number one!

Blazin Buffalo wings would be the last supper!

Marjie said...

Veal Marsala for choice 1.

Lobster tails, orange almond salad, maybe fresh bread, I don't know about dessert for #2. Maybe chocolate?

If someone else cooked it, it would probably be fine.

I think I'm going to go with Fettucini alfredo. As long as I don't get fat. That's allowed in this scenario, right?

And last meal? Medium rare steak, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, squishy bread with butter.

buffalodick said...

otin- Not too bad at all!
Marjie- Good choices, and I hear you on being served, instead of serving!

Liz Mays said...

Mine is so boring.

It would be pizza and pizza!

buffalodick said...

Kate- Just eat a little, life is too short to live without Alfredo..
Good last meal- MidWest until the end!
BlueV- I could do that too!

Christo Gonzales said...

I would have to mimic you but in reverse - if I could eat something for the rest of my life it would probably be lobster or king crab with drawn butter and either coconut cream pie or cheese cake and as for a last meal whats the point just give me a grilled cheese!

buffalodick said...

I may be the only man in the world you understands you... great stuff!

Donna-FFW said...

Roasted red peppers, freshly made fresh mozzarella, all the makings of a good antipasto, of course dessert would be toasted homemade poundcake, homemade vanilla ice cream, hot fudge freshly whipped cream, cherries. My last meal.. king crab legs, loads of butter, and some coors light. Vanilla bean creme brulee with spiked cappucino to follow..

See I didnt even mention my meal involving 'sausages'

buffalodick said...

Donna- Good choices! Somehow I thought your feet on the ceiling would be involved... Just kiddin', kiddo!

Geez these are difficult! At first I'd thought dessert for my one meal, but that would get real old real quick. I'd have to say sandwiches with the disclaimer I could make whatever kind I wanted. Last meal? Some sort of artery-clogging pasta dish, Chicago-style pizza, a variety of cheeses, beer, a Blizzard from Dairy Queen, and brownies. I think I just gained 10 lbs thinking about it :)

buffalodick said...

Shell- It's to make you think, but not so hard! Why do we all put more thought into a meal we would eat forever? Last meal is easy... Kind of fun, don't cha think? :)

Scarlet said...

1. black beans and rice
2. your chili ;)

buffalodick said...

Scarlet- Anytime, anywhere..

Odat said...

2-As boring as it may sound...Calamarui, followed by Portuguese Prawn chowder, then seafood spaghetti and various cheese and crackers! Oh and lots of good wine :)

Dana said...

(1) Buttered noodles with a little salt and pepper!

(2) Prime rib - VERY rare - with horseradish, asparagus, fully loaded baked potato and for desert? NY Style cheesecake - plain!

Mona said...

Buf, It is a meat and cereal cocktail. It is cooked with meat in about seven lentils rice and whole wheat and oats. It is quite spicy , and cooked for about twelve hours on slow heat!

Add to my last meal , a cheesecake for dessert!

buffalodick said...

Dana- We could eat together, and rave about food!

buffalodick said...

Mona- Sounds great! To share a meal with you would be a highlight in my life! Hope all is well with you...

pam said...

Everyday - a perfectly grilled steak with perfectly grilled vegetables, and a slab of buttery texas toast.

Last meal - a big, juicy cheeseburger. The kind with a huge mound of cheese on it, and the bloody juices run down your arm. Served with crisp fries with soft interiors. Dessert - hot fudge sundae.

buffalodick said...

Pam- Your last meal is arousing.. and I will say no more! Lord, love a duck...

tavolini said...

1. Pizza--I could eat pizza everyday, three meals a day without a problem.

2. LOL--well, I would give up the vegetarianism and have a nice, thick reuben on homemade pumpernickel. Skinny onion rings on the side and an ice cold beer.

Melody said...

I thought this would be easy, but it is really hard when you have to make a decision.

1. Homemade cheese enchiladas - my homemade cheese enchiladas.

2. Fig Pizza

1. My mom's homemade stuff bell peppers. I love them. Maybe with a glass of really good wine.

2. I'd take a fabulous steak and chocolate pie for dessert.

Excellent questions.

buffalodick said...

Tavolini- I never know which one is which! Good picks!
Melody- Interesting choices! Eclectic, I would say!
K- Not bad, but let's do a whole jug of wine!

I have been in Montana visiting my mom so that should explain my absence :)

1) Portabella Mushroom Sandwiches. It's rare I find them on a menu, but just love them! Especially with some havarti and spicy mayo on ciabatta bread!

2) I'd have to say King Crab too! It's so good. I would have it with lobster mac n cheese, mud pie, and a caprese salad. You can kill me now too!

buffalodick said...

Rachel- Never, ever kill you- you've got too much life to live! First Portabello mushroom sandwich I had, was at an upscale restaurant, that served it cold- stone cold! I laughed, and sent it back.. One of the two times inedible food was ever served to me..

Full-On-Forward said...

I think a Potato. The Irish had something going if it caused a Famine! LOL. They are so versatile, so I guess Potatoes a gratin, or Creamed Potatoes.

A Whole Rack of Baby Back Ribs with a Carmelized fav rub.
French Fries or Baked Potato-smothered.
Baked Beans and Cole Slaw
Salad/ all greens (except regular lettuce) & fixins with a Vinaigrette or light Honey Mustard dressing.

Key Lime pie for dessert &

a "REAL" White Russian after.

John- Not too bad at all!
Lini- Thought so, but you two make a nice couple!

Good lord you have a lot of readers and comments! I have to try and get here much sooner so I'm not buried!

1) Peanut Butter and Jelly, but it HAS to be Jif! No subsitutes allowed!

2) Last meal? I'd probably be too nervous to eat, but....it would have to be steak and a baked potato.

buffalodick said...

Bina- I don't where they are coming from, but all are welcome- especially my old friends like you..
