It Was My Birthday, And Wife Did The Cooking!

Normally our deal is I cook! I like to, am half way good at it, and, well.. It works for us! As it was my birthday, she seemed determined to make me the recipient of a good meal, instead of being the cook. What ever you may think, the Goob can cook pretty good when cornered.. We had a delightful plate of angel hair pasta, with seared scallops in a Parmesan/White wine/Garlic/Basil sauce that was delightful! Steamed broccoli, that went with the not-too-thick sauce perfectly. Dessert was purchased at a local Dutch eatery- a Coconut Cream Pie, which I am partial to- even though not a favorite of son or wife who ate some anyway!
It's a joy when others do simple things for you that you appreciate. Remember to compliment your cook, and do not take this for granted! You cooks be sure to appreciate their compliments, if you ever want to get any more of them!

Happy. Happy! And I'm partial to banana cream pie, which they made for me out at TAllgrass, just because they knew I was coming out. How cool is that?

Hope you had a happy birthday! I wish there was a dessert that the rest of my family didn't like that I could get for my birthday, but alas, there is no such animal.

Oh how sweet! I was secretly hoping that you wouldn't have to cook your own birthday dinner, even though you love to cook, but it's always nice to be spoiled like that. And spoil you your lovely wife did! Everything looks scrumptious! :)

Your wife did great!! Very yummy. Anything with garlic is outstanding.

The small gestures really mean the most. We are all so disconnected with our www connection/ text messages.

... from my blog. I want to hold onto the wine for my MIL. She will enjoy the homemade hooch with me. Homemade wine is entertaining for company.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES DEAR YOU...... better late then never right :)....

sounds wonderful to have someone else cook for a change lol.... one of my lads did make a wicked curry the other night, and as much as they can cook, except for Jacob who loves cooking, they dont like it.... and he is so knackered after an 11 hour day at college and travelling, there is no way he could cook lol....

one day, I might marry a bloke that would like to cook once in a while.....even if it was once a month lol

know you are loved.....

x

buffalodick said...

Odat- It's Ok! I don't really like my own birthday much- I'm more of a giver than a taker...
Marmy- It was a pleasant surprise, and it was pretty good too!
