Jeez-O-Petes! What A Weather Pattern!
It's stupid cold here right now, but life goes on... They are predicting sub- freezing temps here for a least a week... The plow service we hired is doing a great job! I am pondering my life choice to die in this frozen Hell called Michigan! We all only got X amount of air left to breath- don'tcha think we might want to reconsider staying where most of the landscape was formed by glaciers? God, I'd kill for a Mammoth rib steak right now...

If it's any consolation it's freezing cold here too.
The weather's crazy here too! It's been quite mild this week but the forecast is cold again and snow!
I want to live in San Diego where 50 is a freezing cold, put on your fur parka type of day.
When the regular temperature (wind chill notwithstanding) is below zero, there's something not right in the world.
Jen- It reached 10F(high!) today.. tomorrow the wind chill is going to kick in...
Ake- Snow? Our snow is so cold right now, salt won't even melt it on the roads!
Jeff- Once played golf in Birmingham AL in the spring.. I was in a sweater, and they were wearing parkas! Only took their gloves off when hitting the ball....
Kate- I know you get the cold big time, but imagine it with snow falling and blowing around every day! I'm OK with cold- I HATE SNOW!
Awe buffalo:
Sorry your living in the arctic...
Sending some warm hugs!
I have never seen snow...& with that kind of description I don't think I want to either!
We're about a day behind you, and not quite as cold -- we got about 5 inches of snow today and it's supposed to top out at 4 degrees tomorrow.
I used to spend every winter wishing for spring, but I've reached the age where I'm not willing to wish any more of my days away, even if they're sucky ones!
Your hug, on a cold winter night- just might work miracles! :)
Mona- It's pretty stuff, as long as you don't have to be out in it!
Jeanne- I'm to an age where I say(alot!) what will be, will be...
Uncle Buff...wait...they don't have mammoths over there? ;)
OMG,YES! It's ridiculous cold! It's supposed to be school canceling cold tomorrow-- -35 over here. Brrr! We're all in the same stupid freezing cold boat--but unlike you guys, our plow service sucks big time! Our main roads aren't even clean, and thank god I invested in 4WD, or I'd never get out of my neighborhood.... it's terrible.
I really do have nothing nice to say about winter... :( I had a customer tell me I should sign up for some of that "global warming" everyone is talking about. :P
Big Tackley Hugs!!! :)
--snow
Snowniece- I've seen your storm reports, and I feel like a little wimp! A warm Michigander hug to you and yours tonight! Hot chocolate and brownie wishes to you, dear one... Snuggle up wih those kids- I wish they were my grandkids...
Build a fire...get out your mommoth whistle out and start calling one...oh and is the spear ready...I will be there to help cut up the steaks :)
Medium well please....
It's cold here too (okay DC cold, which is very different from Michigan cold I know, but I did live in Albany NY for 4 years so I understand icy, sub-zero cold a little).
Stay warm.
ChefE- Too cold to hunt, Guess I'll settle for meatballs...
G-man- We hit -6F this morning!
K- The only town I feel sorry for in New York is Buffalo- they get more snow than we do!
LOL, my hubby was standing behind me last night when we got home, I guess he wanted to know who BD was...we are having left overs too, the snow is coming down today, so I will be staying in...you know I only used just Saffron in the food, but I could actually taste it, but I am with you on the cumin I add to most recipes...a taco secret of mine...
We were at -36 this morning. Has anyone seen the movie The Day After Tomorrow? Reminded me of that.
i love the cold weather but i'm JUUUST about ready for spring.
i love the cold weather but i'm JUUUST about ready for spring.
I love the cold weather, I am always so warm! But would not like being stuck in the house...
Chef- I cook competition chili, as you know, and my team mates watch me- as I always think more cumin(personally toasted and ground by me!) is required...
Kate! -36F!!?? Kill a large animal, and hide in the warm carcass until help arrives!
Tanya- How cold is it in California, Nanook? Sheesh...
Photonuts- When it gets this cold in Michigan, we're glad there is an indoors!
We are about 0 right now through Sat. We are BUNDLING up for the night!!!
Hey Fred Flintstone!! Grab Wilma and head South. It's worth it :)
I'll visit all summer long and nothing in the world is as beautiful as the Great Lakes--but I am DONE with Michigan winters!
then again I think it's going to be 16 here in Georgia tonight :(
We're dripping the faucets.
VodkaM- It was 0F this morning with threats of -20F wind chill..and snow is still falling!
Tavolini- The older I get, the more I hate snow...
You REALLY don't want to get me started on the weather. Really and truly. I live in rural England for God's sake.....
I chip my fingers out of the ice each morning to do my blog.
I would do ANYTHING tobe in the Sun right now!
I feel like a popsicle. So this weekend, French Onion Soup is on the menu as I'll be home alone with the dogs. Thank goodness for my snuggly beagle.
Belle- Imagine the largest supply of fresh water in the world surrounding you and being frozen over...with the wind blowing 20-40mph out of the West..
anndi- We haven't had the heart to get our Airedale trimmed while it's this cold- she looks like a Wookie right now!
Even the sunny south hasn't escaped this one Buff. We're still on the plus side of zero, but headed for single digits overnight tonight they say. It's not unheard of here, but we don't get it and keep it like you guys seem to. We'll spend a few days or weeks at a time like this every winter, but we'll catch a break for a while afterward.
Tell you what though, I might consider trading you our winters for your summers!
Mojo- Welcome to the blog- Michigan seasons, 1. Winter(frozen Hell, where tires might as well be sleigh runners!) 2. Spring (Monsoon, followed by mosquito hatch!) 3. Summer (Humid, with a pile of hatched mosquitos!) Fall(Monsoon again, only colder!)Lived here all my life- not too bright, am I? From November until March the Sun does not exist!
You know BD we are having the artic blast down here too...and I love it! Nuts, I know...but I can breath and no sinus problems. I think I'll retire in a cold state...or maybe another country...perhaps Siberia! LOL
Lulda- Check your medication, I think it's out of whack!
I'm seriously considering a move to Florida, or somewhere out west.
