Snowniece Meme I Said I'd Do...

Four Jobs I've Had:
1. Gardener- I scraped pond scum for money. Local car lot had a back pond, that would clog up with algae. I would throw a rake tied to a line out as far as possible and get the stuff off the water. 90 degrees, humid, you get the picture..
2. Rest Home Office Help- Great job! Did my homework while telling people where their loved ones were located. Got to hit on girls working in nursing center and kitchen!
3. Draftsman- Drew and designed technical products.
4. Metals for Tooling Sales Rep- Most of my career, spent in selling and suppling tool steels, alloys, steel plate, aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, etc. to Manufacturing..
Four Places I've Lived:
1-4 Grand Rapids, Michigan, 5 different places, all in North-end!
Four Vacations:
1. Vegas- With and without kids. More fun without!
2. Key West- Kids- but I didn't know about the gays. I was looking for Jimmy Buffet.
3. Disney World- Kids.
4. Wisconsin Brewery Tour- We went to every obscure brewery there was, and collected beers. Later, we drank them...
Four Favorite Foods:
1. Chili dogs! Chili, cheese, mustard...
2. Pizza- Home-made, by me!
3. Wall-eye. Fresh-caught, battered with Drakes, beer, and Lawerys- fried!
4. Soup. About any kind, done well...
Four Places I'd Rather Be:
1. Retired!
2. Anywhere, off season.
3. Home.
4. Visiting People I'd Like To Meet!

Well, you've done an interesting bunch of jobs, probably more interesting in retrospect than when you were doing them. Especially the first one.

leighann- It's kind of a "Show me yours, and I'll show you mine", but in a civilized way....
Ake- I'm still hiding all the really dark, interesting stuff- for later...
dana- As a chili purist, I apologize for the mustard- but it abolutely works!
jen- great pictures!
Annie- Great name, by the way.. Most of those jobs were when I was very young- still in school...
Marmy- Yes, yes that was. I expect more wit in your comments, as I've seen some of your work....xo :)
Kate- Retiring isn't dying- it's time to do what you like- which could be working harder than ever on stuff you believe in!
Tanya- You kid around and I kid back! We are all still people that have to deal with lifecrap daily..
Rog- My Dutch grandfather had a few sayings I never forgot- "There is no shame in honest work", It's not written on the roof of that big house what they owe", and "You can be poor, but it's no excuse for being filthy" The man was not wrong...
R.L.L.- Everything was fine- but when your kid says "There's no kids" and you have to explain why.. If they would have been a little older, it would have been easier to explain!

Is the Wisconsin Brewery Tour an actually tour or did you just do a tour for yourself?

My husband would love a Brewery tour.

I ate that wallie eyed fish when we was in the states for the first time 2 and a bit years ago, I didnt like the way it was blank staring at me on me plate so I had to cover its head with a serviette before I could tuck into it lol....

When we was over this summer, I stayed clear of them wallie eyed fishes :)..... lentils is the way forward lol

lynda- we went to Pabst, Schiltz, Miller, Leinenkugel, Walters, and Hamms! The little breweries were a riot! Walters thought we were OSHA, then decided we were actually people who wanted a tour! Had our samples with the brewery workers in the breakroom on break, from a spigot coming out of a stone wall. Leinie was even better- They sent us back to a hospitality house run by a guy that had worked there since Prohibition! By the time we went on the tour, we were knee-walking...
casok- Without bragging- I got a couple...
Ake- What? And have the Witness Protection Program quit sending the cheques(always wanted to spell that in Brit style..)
meredic- I was a kid, who thought adults were way smarter than they were! Fooled me, though....
Odat- Mom was a classically trained Dutch wife- cook it until dead! My wife, God bless her, had much the same upbringing. Our first apartment came furnished with appliances. She knew what the tall, cold one was for- the other- not so much... Self Defense was my first cookbook..

marmite- Filleted and fried- ya don't eat 'em with the eye-balls staring at you! The cheeks(don't even think it!) of that fish are a rare treat! Wisconsin shares a beautiful shoreline with Michigan- all fresh water! You like cheese- you shoulda loved Wisconsin!

MarmiteToasty said...

:) yep, they was all cheese head there in Wistconstance.... :) we was nowhere near the water though, we was in Reedsburg near the Dells, I got 170 mossie bites and had to go to the hospital and they wouldnt let me out of the country cos I was a tad poorly....so at least we got an extra 5 days there lol when I got home to England, I was right poorly with a bout of West Niles.... so FANKS A BLEEDIN bunch for that doodles lol..... this summer in the states in Maine, I only got bit 64 times and yes, they all went nasty lol I think them doodle mossies liked me fresh english blood lol...
