Global Warming In Michigan...

We went from neck-breaking ice slicks and a foot of snow to a really, ugly green-brown in about the span of 4 days.. I will take ugly green-brown any day you give it to me in Jan.!!! Butt-Ugly vs. Dangerous Roads.... Butt-Ugly wins! Jan.- Feb. in this State are long, cold, and gray.. It bums folks out, even equaling the mini-economic Depression going on in Michigan! Probably like Nordic or Canadian folk- we value friends, food, and warmth more than ever during these months! Big money is spent in December! Jan. and Feb.- not so much... Fight your winter blues, everyone! Hope all are well... Having posting problem with pictures- sorry!

We are beyond saturated here in Illinois! We were treated with a couple 50-60 degree days that melted our 8+ inches of snow, and then 4 days of RAIN!!

January and February in the midwest would be why SPRING is my favorite season!

And, here in NC Texas, it is sunny and 58 degrees! Beautiful weather for January 10. But weather patterns are very erratic all over...tomorrow may bring snow and ice! Although it's sunny and mild, the landscape is like you said.....butt-ugly!

Our 17 inches of snow has dwindled to about 2 and in Minnesota, according to stereotypes, that just isn't right.

I didn't know you were in Michigan. That's where my girl's from! Took my first trip up last July and it was gorgeous in Traverse City!

Here's hoping the pretty green returns mighty soon for you!

Have a great weekend!

Winter here seldom gets beyond an extended rainy season here. As a consequence just a little snow close all the roads in the country.

R.L.L.- Know the area well! When you work up there, they use the saying; "The view of the bay is half the pay..." Been in outside sales forever- all in Michigan! I could be a freakin' tour guide...
meredic- Bleak in winter months is shaped in a broad band around our planet, I can only crab about mine!
G-man-I like how the Youpers-(residents of Upper Pennisula) explain us: Trolls( we live below the Mackinaw Bridge!) or Fudgies(tourists who just come North and go home with famous fudge!)
Dutchie- Hope they never hit you!

You are so right about the view. Her parents live on East Bay on Old Mission Peninsula. Not the worst place in the world to have to visit...especially since we're wine whores! We brought back almost four cases. Insanity!

It's 53 here today, but it just seems cold for some reason. I'm sure you guys would be in t-shirts and shorts! LOL

I feel your pain! Cold, gray and wet here in Oregon. That's alright, nothing another 3-4 months won't fix. ICK

Ya I got really lucky with the thaw. The timing of the leaves falling didn't really work with my schedule so I kinda dragged ass on the leaf raking, then of course it snowed and covered the leaves. The thaw was just enough to melt all the snow and dry the leaves out and I finally got my raking done....in the 2nd week of Jan.

I call January "the grey season" b/c all the Xmas lights come down and all that's left is grey-and your imagination.
