No Fear Of Flying-Just A Little Claustrophobic...

Tuesday really early, we leave for Las Vegas. Grand Rapids MI to Twin Cities, a layover, then straight out. Last time on a plane, it was stupid crowded. We did not sit together as a family, and I was stuck in the middle seat between 2 large people(And I wasn't small!) Looong flight, and air was getting stale. By the time I got off that plane, I was seriously pissed. I am concerned about a repeat, as I usually drive wherever I go. I have worked in outside sales for 30 years. I am not used to being in an office or one place for more than a couple of hours at the most. You would be surprised how that can change you! Once we get there, things should be fine-provided they aren't hauling me off to Security when we land....

I really hope this time is better for you. Ask for an aisle seat, that seems to help me with the breathing part while being stuck in a small place surrounded by "big" people.

I am also not fond of planes. But it should at least be a relatively short flight at least. Which might mean a little plane.
But, the last time I flew, I sat next to some really, really nice people. I hope if you can't sit with your family, the people are kind.

Plus, It's VEGAS, BAY-BEE!! :)

I completely understand... Craig and I rarely take a vacation that can't be reached by car. There is something comforting about calling the shots and determining your fate (so to speak). Flying is not one of my favorite activities and is usually done under great distress.... Have you considered a valium before departure??? I can't wait to hear about your Vegas adventures!

I always have to sit next to my husband, because he is afraid of flying. I love flying. I hate the stale air, though.

Just tell them that you need to sit next to your wife, or things won't be pretty because she is scared. ;-) A little fibbing never hurt anyone except the person stuck between the two big people. LOL.

Oooh, a layover in the Twin Towns. Be sure to look south and see... the freeway. Hell, there's no scenery to see in Bloomington. Enjoy the snack consisting of Pepperidge Farms cookies. At least it's not a flight to Hawaii. Those are long and long on a plane SUCKS.

You'll do fine. Thankfully, it's not a terribly long flight (unless they go the jackassed way around)....and you get pretzels and a drink! Doesn't that make it all worth it? hahaha

Have a great time, win big and share half with ME! :o)

Ewww... I hope that won't happen again, that's awful to be squeezed in like that!

So... WERE you dragged off by Security?
