A Quiet Week-End Before The Storm...

Yesterday, my wife and I made one of our "Let's Get Outta Dodge" day trips to a casino in Manistee, Michigan. We had fun, but the place was packed, and lady luck wasn't paying too much attention to us... Got home, snarfed the last of the leftover pizza from Friday night, and crashed to watch absolutely nothing interesting on the TV.. We decided for Sunday dinner, we(me!) would make a meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and some steamed asparagus, along with a traditional shortbread lemon bar. You can figure out which picture is which- I hope!
This coming week will most likely be a life crossroads for me, which I can't explain right now, but will later. Things change for a reason, and it should be interesting...

Wow--funny what you said about a crossroads. That's where I've been at lately, career wise. After months of musing, I just gave my notice on Friday. I'm going back to self employment, doing freelance writing and creative direction.

I hope wish you the very best with your crossroads.

DogB- My friend, a square meal always brings us back to Earth.. My next week will be bizarre, to say the least!
casdok- As a woman who has seen more adversity than I could ever imagine, this will not even be worthy of comment.. You do good things, dear...
Urban V- I am happy for you! You are creative, and need to live life on your own terms.. Scary, I know, but I have seen your talent- and properly applied, you will will do great!

You'd think I'd know by now that visiting your blog on an empty stomach is never a good idea! Meatloaf is one of my favorite comfort foods, served hot, or the next day on a sandwich!

annie- Thanks! It is a situation I'm not entirely in control of- sometimes you leap, sometimes you get shoved...
rog- Soaring Eagle is bigger than ever...
jen- I don't know exactly what will happen, but change is coming...
odat- This meatloaf was the best I've ever made! And I've only made 100 of them...
dana- leftovers we got! I make a 3 pound meatloaf... Tonight, probably a thick slice on toast(open-face!), with a sharp cheese melted over it...

OMG! I adore meatloaf...and if mashed potatoes aren't available...then homemade Mac N Cheese is the only other suitable side...

beth- It is.. but it is time for a change..
michelle ann I will eat mac-n-cheese anytime, any where!!
Tanya- A bit bittersweet, but time none the less..
Ake- If you knew me for a long time, you'd be afraid for the other people! Thanks, though.. Worrying about me is like worrying that Jack the Ripper was out of sharp knives...

Isn't amazing that you can make meatloaf a hundred different times and it tastes slightly different each time.

Hope your week turns out well for you.

UncleBuff,

No matter what you're at a crossroads about, you are one of my wisest friends and I know you've got the brains to make the best decision for you and all involved.

Mike- You're alive! Good! Hope all is well with you and yours...
bina- Don't over work your hand making meatloaf!
Pink- I would love to cook anything you wish someday!
jeff- Big deal postponed- again!
Snowniece- I never give up, and I believe there is always a solution. I chose a long time ago, never to be a victim,- I have seen scary, and I know now most people are afraid of things that they can actually control...

See, I aint never had 'meat loaf' BUT to me it always gives me visions of little elderly folk in a home chewing tough meat and then spitting it into a pan, squashing it down and baking it...... sorry but it so does lol

Yummy! That is making my stomach growl. I hope your life changes work out for you.

Marmy- Imagine a 3lb seasoned hamburger with no bun- that's a meatloaf.... Old people here order "No-chew-food"....
sherry- The main event has been put off, but I'm spending a day with two highers ups, and my patience is at an end...
