Venison Chili And Wife Baked Cookies!

Since the venison sticks really didn't come out that great, I felt the need to vindicate myself by making Venison chili! A small batch(6-8 servings) it used cubed, browned venison, cubed cooked pork, white beans, chicken broth, beef broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, diced onions, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, Mexican oregano, chili powders(mild and DoggyB medium hot!)-simmered for a couple of hours, it was a good, hot meal for a cold, snowy day!
The chocolate chip cookies were made by my wife- who told me I damn well better mention them on my blog! You can always tell when my wife has cooked something... measuring spoons down to 1/8 teaspoon used! She is a "follow the recipe to the gram" cook, where I don't measure anything less than 1/2 cup! They came out thin, crisp/chewy- just how I love them! She likes them thicker, so she wasn't as pleased with herself as she hoped to be...
My son is coming over today to help repair my spice/sauce/cooking elixir drawers in my kitchen cabinets. Apparently they weren't designed to hold 30lbs a piece! We are gonna fix them so they will!

hahaha!! Can't believe we were both making chili last night!

Of course, I haven't won numerous awards for mine :)

Looks delicious!

DogB- Most venison lovers love a chili like this, but we can't use wild game in contests- so we don't see it much!
Tavolini- Get in some contests, and I bet you will win!

Buff- I am 'ditto' on what dog said...Chili should be the staple of most carnivores recipe boxes!

Nice cookies She Buff. . . hmmmm, can I say that?

The mercury is supposed to drop down into the twenties this weekend. That chili would really hit the spot.

Sounds super! How many spice/sauce/cooking elixir drawers have you got?

Chef- As a veteran of over 40+ chili cook-offs, it is actually kind of rare for me to just cook it for our own consumption!
jeff- She will love you for it! Although even her kids call her the Goob, or Goobie....
Ake- I may take a picture to show you, but that doesn't count the staples in the pantry!

Venison chili sounds mighty tasty as I had a big batch of chili just last night and wondered what other meats would taste like instead of boring old ground beef.

Sornie- Venison is a perfect meat for chili, as the flavor can hold its' own in a pungent sauce like chili!

I spewed my tea when I read Jeff's lewd comments to Mrs Buff.
As we have not yet recovered from the flu from hell here at the Anndi abode, I'll just dream of your chili and your meat... oops, see what Jeff made me do?

G-man- My "You get a deer, get back half as jerky" barter system works pretty good!
marmy- We have been a little heavy on the pork meals lately!

That's certainly worth a try. You are to silly! [30 lbs indeed]

If you have a mo I'd be interested to see if you have a recipe to offer to my 'recipes from the fringe of the bell curve' post on Monday. Whitterer On Autism

Cheers

Anette- I make it quite rich, with a deep chili flavor, with heat coming in the middle, that dissipates quickly!
Maddy- I will check it out... recipes I got!
