My 300th Post.. A Mixed Bag Of Thoughts Today..

It has taken me about 2-1/2 years to get to this post... sounds like a long time but it sure did pass quickly! I started this venue of communication to read my sons' blog. He lives in K.C. MO, and it was the only way I could comment on his blog! He soon lost interest, and moved on to other, more high tech (or single person options!). I stayed. I found a way to start writing again. I found a way to document happenings in my life, both past and present...literally an on-line way to pass on a bit of my life to my family and friends- or anyone else these thoughts and memories would strike a cord with. I watched my posts evolve (and we are all still evolving, believe me!)from mini rants, observations, and self musings(which nobody first read!)- into a way to communicate and relate to wonderful people from all over the world! Look closely, and we are all very different! Look with open, understanding mind- and we have so many things in common... I had a phone conversation with Doggy Bloggy which lasted at least a half an hour... We had never spoken to each other, but the shared laughs and knowledge we had made it seem like I went to grade school with him! This blogging thing is for real.. we are all for real, whether we are pretending or not!
I left my career behind a week ago, and this is the stuff I'm starting to think about again-finally!
Dinner was as retro as I know how to make it- Herbed beef and pork meatloaf, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, gravy, sauteed mushrooms, and home-made apple crisp!
Tomorrow is the last out-patient procedure I've got to do(hopefully!). Then maybe a little R & R...

Congratulations for the 300th post! I have been blogging sine 2004. ( My last blog was deleted for a very stupid reason). So I haven't yet reached my 200th post even!

I have talked to G man & Charles & Lime over the phone. Its great to know people from afar can be just a ring away!

Best wishes for a new beginning!

CONGRATULATIONS Buff!

I always wonder what I did with my time before blogging. The friendships, and even the drama, are lessons to each of us!

Congratulations Buff!

I never thought to check how many posts I've written so I just did and I've done 430! I may have a party if/when I reach 500. You'll come won't you - you can do the cooking! LOL

Just telling it like it is said...

I know blogging is something special whether your commenting on the little funny things in life or the serious. I used to hate writing after college I thought I would never want to write anything ever again... Blogger are kind of special in the way that they even find rectums funny!! Congrades on your 300th post and to many many more!!!

you did feel and sound like a long lost friend, it was nice...funny that it was a way to talk to your son and instead the whole world walked in...

Mona- Thanks! You about as far away geographically as you could be, but I feel much closer to you than that!
dana- A mixed bag of insightful, funny, and informative is yours for the taking when you blog!
Ake- 430! Indeed, 500 will be a milestone to mark! I'll start planning a menu!
darn girl- Thanks! More to come... I guarantee it!
Jen- Plenty! I made a pan that will probably last longer than I want it to!
DogB- Glad you felt that way too! The last remark was very well said...

Isn't it amazing how an innocent little past-time can grow to such an education? I second everything you said. Blogging somehow reduces people to, well... people. We have different opinions but yes, there is almost always common ground. And yes, there is much to learn. We are all evolving. Very zen. Today is the first day of your life.

Since I don't relish autumn [maybe it's the metaphor that gets me every year], apple crisp might possibly be the one good thing about this season.

Good luck on your procedure. Please stay healthy and take good care of yourself!

Super Congrats on 300...hey, isn't that a movie? :D

This blogging is a great thing, which I resisted for so long...what a fool! Just within a few blogging months I've met some wonderful folks. And keep meeting more each day.

I was trying to show my husband the other nite, how proud I was of my Blog, he was mildly upset that he wasn't on it. I had to explain that for me it is not about putting my full identity out there.
We need something for the imagination...well, u know I'm an artist of sorts... so give me a break!!
Anyway, I did tell him I do mention him from time to time! :D So...BD give us 300 more!!

buffalodick said...

lulda- Thanks! Bloggers range from people who really tell all, to people like me-and apparently, you!
deb- I'm really not old enough to retire- I just wanted out of the metals business after 35 years! I'll be doing something, when I figure out what! More importantly- how are you doing? Hope it's smoothing out a little for you...

Hear, hear, to everything said by the very real folks who visit your blog. I don't know them all, but those I have had the pleasure of sharing posts with have become an important part of my life. You Buff have always brought a smile to my lips, and words of encouragement and praise to my ears, and I'm sure my eyes twinkle each time I click to your Blog. Looking forward to the next 300, wonder what words will pass our way??????

R.L.L.- This world is a bigger place than most could ever imagine- I don't pretend to understand half of what I should... Our feelings, call it our heart, or instincts- but you know the good meaning people from the bad- you just know..
Queenie- I have said before, you have so much heart and warmth to others, and still have such a cold image representing your true self (in the picture of that queen!). Please, in the thought of how much pain you went through- and still came out with that great outlook on family and life- change it to show how warm you are to others and life.. I see you better as a sprite of Mother Earth, or even the gracious Mother of Earth herself- now that's a Queen!

WOO HOO!!!! I love this medium too. People are just the most interesting things ever. You are one of my favorite bloggers....maybe because you share my love of martinis and Bettie Page...ha ha

buffalodick said...

VodkaM- Thanks, and next post will be on Scotch Eggs..
MichelleAnn- You've taught me new things- like foot fetishes, how to survive if out on the town or work with Tanya, etc... Heeheehee...

Wow! 300. Congratulations! And I love reading you so you better not go anywhere!

And you got to talk to Dog???? You are so lucky! I bet he was a hoot.

My son lives in S.L. MO and this is how we communicate, well through myspace.com mostly, but he hates to write...loves to talk about food like his mom though.
