These Minis have become a great way for me to know you better, and for you to get to say something you've wanted to say- but nobody asked...
1. How do you see Life? (Here for a reason, Natures' plan, Don't know, etc.)
2. How do see Death? (Going somewhere? Nowhere? Don't know?)..
This could get heavy, but say what's on your mind.. I'm going to!
1. Life is the Eternal struggle, to live, to survive... I think that is Natures' Plan...Survival of the Species.. It is indeed a genetic pattern we adhere to.
2. Death. No one comes back. Must be a pretty good step up for us! That is, if you believe in an afterlife of some sort..
Let's hear your answers! Oh and by the way, I love life, but am- in no way, afaid to die...

I am not afraid to die. Just how & when and not before I have a long time with Grandchildren. I am afraid of who's death or the loss I may have to endure & survive. I have already survived the death of both parents at a younger age & a young friend. Grief never leaves.
Life to me is momments & choices that have led me to where I am today and I honestly am not sure how this life of mine will end or where I am headed. I don't plan that far ahead. I do know I am surrounded by good souls & life is day to day. If I get wrapped in the future of what if. I missed today. Okay? ;)Hugs
1. How do you see Life?
Life is a struggle. It's how you get through the struggle that matters. Enjoying life, loving, giving, helping, are ALL reasons for life. You have to make the best of everything and don't sweat the small stuff. Forgive people and things. Don't hate, don't judge. Just learn to be happy. To me, that is the reason for life.
2. How do see Death? On Death? That's a tricky one. I do believe there is something beyond death, but I'm not sure we are supposed to know exactly what that is. People have their beliefs, their faith, their hopes, and their wants for death. My only hope is that when I die, I know I have had lead a life to be proud of, and my kids will take joy in my memories, and that after death, their is NO pain!
Life - a series of challenges, experiences and challenges - the result of nature as it progresses.
Death - a return to the soil from which we came.
How do you see life?
As a constant learning and growing struggle. Everyday is a new day, I try to stck with that.
How do I view death?
Hard one. since I recently viewed my grandma's passing, I can only say PEACEFUL at this time, although my feelings could change on that.
To all above comments- beautiful! This is exactly what I was hoping to see from all of you- good, profound comments! It shows we all do think about this stuff...
Life - here for a purpose - to learn lessons before we move on to a higher plane.
Death - the beginning of either a new life to learn lessons or move on to a higher plane.
Life is a joy to be experienced. Maybe there's a reason, maybe there isn't. Either way we're here. Might as well enjoy it.
Death? Energy doesn't disappear, it goes on. As do we in some form or another.
Life - Every day needs to be a step towards happiness. Life should always be cherrshed. There is no point in it if you are not enjoying it.
Death - will come to everyone. it will come, as a good thing...if I follow the above LIFE part. Death is only physical. One is alway remembered in the hearts of those who love them.
I think that we're here for a reason but that the influences of others and the decisions they make in their own lives can directly influence and change our own pre-determined direction and that's why I think that while there may be a higher power, said higher power doesn't have any direct relation to our originally determined path which is likely more of a genetic influence thing stemming from birth. If that makes a bit of sense, cool.
As far as death, it happens and it's an inevitable thing. When someone dies what is deemed as "too soon" it is because they had made peace with any "demons" and had found true zen.
Oh Buff I don't know if I can answer these at the moment.
I'm a woman so I'm allowed to change my mind, and at the moment its changing sometimes as often as twice a day.
I will come back and answer these when I haven't so much negativity finding its way around my head. It may be a week or two, while I contemplate my answers, but as the Terminator said "I will be back".
My post today I think addresses this:
http://mrnighttime.blogspot.com/2008/07/signposting-life.html
cripes. all i see is how do i see Budweiser?
life is to be seized like a moment that will soon be gone.
death is final - no more moments!
Ok , so now you have given me topics & so don't blame me if I wax philosophical ( I may bore you to slumber!)
LIFE is short. Energy limited. And with this energy limited we have to find the unlimited, with this short life we have to find the eternal, a great task , a great challenge! So we have to stop being concerned with matters that are unimportant( that being taken away by death being unimportant( money ,power prestige) and that which cannot be taken away by death as important(compassion and love)). You will only be taking away with you only whatsoever awareness you have attained; which is your only real wealth. That is the art of living.
Life has no aim other than itself, because life is another name for God himself. Life contains everything that is needed, moreover it needs no proof. You are Life. You are the proof. You are the argument. You cannot deny life. It is the beating of your heart, it is in your breathing and expressing in your love. It is a celebration in thousand and one ways- in the trees, the mountains, the rivers. Life is the aim of everything.Hence, Life's aim is intrinsic, it has no aim other than itself!More life, deeper life, higher life, But Life always!
Death is the greatest phenomenon . It is the culmination of Life, the crescendo, the highest peak. Life is a situation to learn what Death is. Death is the greatest thing that IS going to happen in Life. It is the climax. It has to be understood as it is the goal of Life. All Life is moving towards Death. Not to understand death means not to understand life.Whatever is, IS and has to be looked into, it has to be faced. If you can encounter death, you transcend death, knowing that there is some element in you which goes beyond death. Avoiding Death, you remain under control of death. Facing it, you transcend it.
Whenever we talk about death, it is always about other's death and we leave ourselves out of it.
when you face Death, your mind is gone, your body is gone, your ego is gone. All is gone, yet you are. The way you were before you were born. And THIS is your reality. THIS is the answer to the question "Who am I?"
Again, to all above comments- Very good stuff. Alot of people (just like all of us!)ponder these things at one time or another...
For me life is a learning experience, we are here to better ourselves through experiences from which we can gain knowledge and develop spiritually.
Death is just the way out of this material being back into the spiritual realm. I believe we come, have many lives, and develop as we live, learn, and die.
To all of you, thank-you for sharing your opinion on a pretty deep subject! All of you wrote beautifully, and the the I.Q. of people who visit this blog is at least Genius range. What I liked better were the human feelings evoked- You folks are the ones I want here!
oh damn i spelled moments wrong in my above comment. does that mean I'm still a smarty pants? Yes indeed!
Thanks for the Ponder Buff!
Life aye.... its what we sign up for... death is just the small print...

(((Buffalo)))) I dont know any other way to say things.... I know Im not eloquent like all the above, or deep, or with long explanations or classy or reflective..... Im not so many things, but I only know how to be me..... thats all I have to give anyone..... just me....

I see life as we're all here for a small blip and we should make the best of what we have while we're here...and yes there is a purpose....a learning.....just don't know what that is.....:-)
I'm not so sure about death....I'd like to believe we all meld into one big spirit...but....I do have my doubts....
Peace
Gosh that's a bit deep for a Sunday morning. I'll nip back when my brain function returns.
Cheers
wow Buff, this is some deep stuff...
I see life as...we are here for a purpose, and it's our job to find out what that is. Everyone has a "job" to do, and we need to get to the business of doing it.
Death....Heaven. I believe in God and Heaven and I hope/know that I'll be there one day.
end of story
Great question and equally great responses from your readers.
Oh how my views have changed in my 42 years on this planet. It makes me ponder at how they might change in my remaining time too.
I've always believed there was an ultimate creator of life, but in my youth I rebelled against it/him/her more. I say more because even now though my faith is stronger, I still have my periods of doubt and wonder. Through it all though I still hold firmly to the feeling that we should go through this life with a spirit of excitement. Leave this world a better place than before you entered it. View life as an oppertunity, not as a battle.
As for death, I sit in the heaven and hell camp. Heaven to me will be very much like living on Earth, but without all the baggage. No floating around on a cloud playing a harp. How boring would that be? I also think our afterlife will be a very different experience for each of us. i.e. what is it that brings you the greatest joy? That will be a big part of you future existance. But obviously, what makes you happy will very likely be different from what I enjoy so hence the different after death experiences.
I don't fear dying, I fear dying too soon. I want to be here for my kids as long as I can be. When they can stand on their own two feet, I'm ready.
buf is having issues with his keyboard- stay tuned..
I just sent an email to some friends the other day about staying healthy and at the end of the email it had this statement:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a ride!!!!
So, that's my take on life and death. :)
New keyboard! 10 bucks!
I have not seen a single thing I disagree with... Have you? We all gotta get together and write a book, or start a religion! Tax free, of course...
Jeff- I feel I have to say something to you. I know there is a God, I just do not know his plan.. I do his work in an odd way, and know I am not beloved.. I think he/she/it/ has a job for all of us, but I really have never gotten to look at the Game Plan. I'm OK with this, but the 7th level of Hell ain't Miami Beach!
Yeah, knowing his plan sure wouldn't leave much in the excitement department for our time here.
I'm at a loss to the 7th level of hell reference. Sorry I'm missing the picture, but if I'm understanding correctly, then 85 degrees with 95% humidity is just a drop in the bucket compared to what hell will really be like.
jeff- Just workin' my way out of the pit, one level at a time..
Hey UncleBuf--I can't resist your clever mini-memes :) You got a good thing going here.
1. How do you see Life? (Here for a reason, Natures' plan, Don't know, etc.)
Life is a chance to make someone else's life better every day. I absolutely believe that everyone is here for a reason and we all cross paths because we are supposed to, not by some random chance. I've had too many serendipitous moments not to believe it. I also don't believe there is a meaning of life so much as there is a meaning of people. Life is just the container for the goods. :)
2. How do see Death? (Going somewhere? Nowhere? Don't know?)..
This could get heavy, but say what's on your mind.. I'm going to!
I want to believe there is an afterlife, but I don't know what it's like or what it is. I guess we all find out eventually. When someone is sick, I think of death as a release. When someone dies by a means unnecessary, it always seems such a shame.
Did you have to buy a new keyboard after all these comments? :P
--snow
Snow- Who you are will die.. who you will be might live forever... Must meet you before all that happens- we could rule the afterlife..:) The creators' whipping boy, The Buf
P.S.- Aw crap! He heard me again... E-mail 7th level of Hell.com...
