Just What I Needed, Another Monster Kitchen Appliance...

I mentioned in an earlier post, we were getting our first food processor. Never one to do anything half-assed, I got about the biggest one available without going to a commercial unit! It was delivered late Wed. so Thursday I unpacked it, ran the parts and attachments thru the dishwasher, and READ THE MANUAL. Those last three words should scare the heck out of you, because if you know me, I never read a manual in my life-I'm a guy! There were enough parts with this thing, that to use it or put it away right when done using it required a video, not a manual! The friggin' thing weighs a ton. Finally I was comfortable with how it worked, so I plugged it in and turned it on. The motor was so powerful, it hummed like a wood chipper before you jam in a tree limb! I'm thinking about going to the grocery store and buying a bunch of "Marked down for quick sale" fruits and veggies just to see how each attachment works. We'll see how much we use it- I'm still a sharp knife fan for cutting and chopping...
Tomorrow we have the last outside chili contest of the year(that we go to!)Our famous "Wicked White" chili is what we'll be making, while my buddy plans on doing our traditional red chili as a separate entry. Results will be forthcoming in a Sunday post. Enjoy your week end!

I love new kitchen toys! My mom gave me a beautiful KitchenAid stand mixer that's been collecting dust on my counter for months! Could you come over and show me how to use it? ;)

Have a wonderful, tasty weekend!

Wow! That sounds like some kind of a bulldozing machine...
I can imagine carrots & Beetroots being demolished...

I need one too...

& I do not read a manual either...that is why my Microwave is sitting on its a-- since the past two years...all brand new!

We had a Cusinart food processor we inherited from the MIL. That thing was a bear to clean.

This one looks easier though.

Now come along now. Please try and use the correct American terminology. It's not a Magimix [uk] it's a Cuisineart!
Cheers

I am such a gadget Queen...but mine are more electronic instead of kitchen. But this is a nice one...I don't have a food processor..unless you count my boys!

Well I'm certainly NOT a chef but I do enjoy kitchen appliances and accessories for the kitchen..go figure... ;-)

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with the HUGE thingie there...

White chili?? Did I miss something?

Here you look out! Sounds like you could easily lose a limb while making a smoothie with that one.

Finn- Hope you're feeling better! I'll come over as soon as I start using the one(Kitchenaid 600 Pro 6 quart) I got about the same time you did!
Mona! If I have an accident with it, my next post will be "How To Eat With A Hook". No beet will ever enter this house, while I'm alive...
Lynda- Reviews did say clean-up was easy... No clean up is easy...
mcewen- I have a Cuisinart brand toaster, electric can opener, and a "Griddler". Kitchenaid makes a better "Cuisinart" than Cuisinart does!
Beth- Got this thing 'cause I was tired of trying to get the stuff back out of the garbage disposal after blending it...:)
nancybee- White chili is primarily made from chicken, chix broth, onions, peppers, white beans, and spices. My recipe is a bit more than that...
meredic- This thing could make a smoothie out of a handful of marbles.....
DogB- I don't know what i'm going to put in it yet, but whatever it is, it's goin' down!

Well, at least it sounds like a Butch version of the appliance... I have a small one and I hardly ever use it... Prefer the knife (and you know what I am like with knives.... lol)

You will love your new FP. I can't imagine living without one. I can make pizza dough or pie crust in just 10 minutes. To think, I used to do all that by hand.

DutchB- I will have to get into the habit of using it- I've never had one before!
Ake- I checked and it says "Kitchenaid" not "Morbark", so it should be OK...
har- Probably shorter fingers! I haven't been to the Med Center lately.....
Snow- The power this thing exudes will make you think twice about "playing" with it!
mel- White chili is good!Recipe included next posting...
UrbanV- I hope I feel like you do about this soon!
