Report On Soup..Simply Put, Exellent!
This potato soup, and I have made a few.. was superior! I believe it was made from potato flour, seasoned with chives, leeks, or onion.. Thought milk would be the liquid, but only water was used.. Leads me to believe they put dry milk in it as an addition... It was filling, tasty, and every bit as good as Katherine said it would be! Wife will have a bowl, before we leave for an upscale wedding tonight.. Katherine- you are a keeper! Your taste buds work well, you share, and I appreciate both!

Potato soup with bacon and cheese, how could you go wrong with that? Delicious looking!
Just noticed...Yesterdays was your 100th post. Great blog, many more... well done
Bacon and cheese! Woo Hoo! Looks like a great soup, and great insurance against potentially less than wonderful wedding food...have fun, Buff!
Is that bacon I see...Everything is better with Bacon...yummm I love potato soup on a cold day!!!
Have a shot of tequila for me at the wedding!
Yep, the bacon and cheese got my attention. Looks great!
Looks fandabbydozy!!
OMG, does this look delicious! It's the only soup my kids would actually enjoy eating. Tell me how it's done, Buff! :)
That might be a soup I'd enjoy. Potatoes and bacon? That's my kinda food!
Of course it was awesome......
Chris- Thin, smooth, rich, and filling!
Year on Grill- I have about 430 posts! Where did you see 100?
Marjie- The wedding reception was at The Amway Grand Hotel- and has the highest rated restaurant in Michigan! The menu was incredible appetizers, Tomato bisque soup in crust, etc.. I will cover it in my next post!
Darngirl- It was very different from how I normally make it- in a very good way!
Donna- Open bar with top shelf before, wines during meal, open bar after.... anything who could want!
Gene- Katherines idea!
E.D.- Good stuff, for sure!
Scarlet- That soup mix is available on line from the company listed on my last post!
Steph- Had some delicious potato with the four course sit down meal at the wedding, too!
G-man- USC, MSU, lost!
Sounds yummy! :)
sounds & looks great!
My cholestoral jumped 20 points just looking at it!
Ake- It was well received!
Mona- Nice and filling...
otin- It was richer than it looked, too!
I am read for soup, after eating out for the past three weeks...Katherine is a great blog!
Chef- Chris and his food, would be quite a road treat! I gotta hit the road and meet some of these great people I have been talking to!
I am thrilled you liked the soup. It's our Christmas Eve tradition. I have to make something fast when we get home from church because they can't wait to open presents.
The first time I made the soup, I was REALLY worried how it looked when the water was first added; I bet you were worried too.
It tastes just like a fully loaded baked potato!
Katherine- I read the recipe, and I was confused..no milk? no cream? Water? You're kidding me, right? I have an Empirical mind.. and reasoned it was made from potato flour, dry milk, seasonings that ran to chive/onion flavor..which made complete sense! When confronted with excellence, my first thought is.. how to duplicate this? I will.. and you will receive a batch, to see if you agree with my results... When I do this, it means it was great! I have given you so many compliments.. to give you more would make us both look bad!
That looks delicious!
Oh my gosh, that looks so perfect and with the bacon on top. Scrumptious!
UberM- I brought some left over to my son, and he liked it too!
BlueV- Meat market bacon is always better!
Hi UncleBuf!
I had some beer-cheese soup in a bread bowl at the Ren Fest this weekend and I don't even think it came close to as yummy as this looks. However--the bread bowl they made it in was super delicious. Totaly worth the bland soup. ;)
--snow
Very nice--it must be in the air! We had potato soup last night, too--with some grilled provolone and tomato sandwiches. Delicious for this early fall weather :)
Snowniece- I've had beer in soup, and I prefer it cold, and in a glass!
Tavolini- Wife had some more of it, and a grilled cheese sandwich last night!
Gah. I'm trying not to eat anything more than some carrots for lunch and this is not what I needed to see!!
It sounds DELICIOUS!
Have you ever had pumpkin soup? It is my all time favorite. I am almost looking forward to winter just so I can slurp down loads of the stuff.
Kath- I love your smile! Please tell me the name of your drug connection! I'm only kidding, as always.... Carrots make a kid's nose turn orange..instead, please enjoy some potato soup! Welcome to the blog!
Angela- Yes, and I like that too..squash soup is also tasty in the same way!
Looks great, too. Uh, the soup.
Heff- Our common ground is that we never just let it go... keep on, keepin' on!
You can't go wrong with a good hearty soup and bread!
I saw you over at Otin's!! Is this what happens when I leave you alone too long?? Otin and Buffalodick teaming up!! I am scared.
... and I made another batch of that potato corn chowder this weekend. Yummy!! I like to smash up some of the potato to mix into the broth to thicken it up
No matter what soup you make, leeks and thyme are a MUST! They add the best flavors. Oh... and some wine like sherry! :o)
BlondeD- We like soup around here, and good soup is even better!
Hit40- I enabled that google friend connect, which a lot of people are glad I did...Cooking again? Be careful..HeeHeeHee...
Kris- I do a Manhattan style seafood chowder, where the dry sherry added at the end is key to the flavor..
My mouth is watering! LOOOVE potato soup!
jules- It was quite the treat, I won't deny!
Love potato soup! Yours looks great with the huge pieces of bacon and the cheese. Mmmmm
