Who'd a thunk? My wife, Sharon and I hit this milestone today, and you wouldn't believe the day we have planned...
Said "Happy Anniversary" to each other about 10 minutes before I left for an early work meeting (butt chewed for not doing paperwork!). My wife starts her new job today at noon (tomorrow starts full-time!)and has to go directly to school from work. That's right, we won't see each other all day or evening long! Tommorrow will be the same, so no celebration then either! She left me a card, and I brought her one too, along with a box of candy and 1lb. of fudge from the local candy bandit...
I think you'll find after 35 years, it isn't one day that made the difference, it was all 12,775 days doing a little every day that makes it happen... We are not the kids who got married all those years ago, but I'm pretty sure we still have whatever it took to get married in the first place!
Don't any of you ladies worry about her getting a special night or week end out celebrating, friends of ours have their 35th soon, and mentioned we'd better do something together to mark this great accomplishment!

First of all I'd like to say, "Damn you're old!"
OK seriously, congrats. In a time when marraige is sometimes treated like a disposable item only to be traded in on the next, best thing to come along, I applaud you for sticking through whatever life has thrown your way over all that time.
I like how you said that it wasn't the one day that mattered so much, but all the ones leading up to it. How true those words are.
Congrats on the big three five. I have three years in and it feels like thirty five. Only because we are really old and it fits really good and it feels like forever.
odat- Thanks, and toast away! With my wife gone tonight, me and the Airedale are just raiding the refigerator....
jeff- I will stay with my wife forever- I have never met a woman worth half my worldly goods to give her up for.... :)

Men DO Remember Anniversaries
A woman awakes during the night to find that her husband was not in their bed.
She puts on her robe and goes downstairs to look for him and finds him sitting at the kitchen table with a hot cup of coffee in front of him. He appears to be in deep thought, just staring at the wall.
She watches as he wiped a tear from his eye and takes a sip of his coffee.
"What's the matter, dear?" she whispers as she steps into the room. "Why are you down here at this time of night?"
The husband looks up from is coffee, "Do you remember 20 years ago when we were dating, and you were only 16?", he asks solemnly.
The wife is touched to tears thinking that her husband is so caring and sensitive. "Yes, I do," she replies.
The husband paused. The words were not coming easily. "Do you remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my car making love?"
"Yes, I remember," said his wife, lowering herself into a chair beside him.
The husband continued. "Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said, 'Either you marry my daughter, or I will send you to jail for 20 years?"
"I remember that, too," she replied softly.
He wiped another tear from his cheek and said ... "I would have gotten out today."
I KNEW there were still couples who stick together and make it through no matter what!
It really is all about the in-between days.
Happy Anniversary!
Kiss your bride and give her a hug for me!
