Pizza Sunday? You Bet!
We did a pretty good job getting rid of turkey leftovers! I gave quite a bit to my guests to take home, and later Thursday night I simmered the carcass in water infused with appropriate herbs & spices for a few hours, to create a broth for Fridays' turkey noodle soup lunch! Good stuff- a lighter food day than Gorge Thursday... Early Saturday morning on a whim, we decided to head out the new casino Four Winds, in New Buffalo, MI. It's a little under 2 hrs to drive there, and it really was pretty neat. It has to be the largest casino in Michigan and I would say also the nicest! We gambled for about 4 hrs. and actually left with a little more money than we came with! The place was filling up fast when we departed about 3PM. This place is located about 2 hrs from Chicago and from the look of all the people wearing Bears jackets, alot of them must drive up. We grabbed a burger and fries at a Culvers' in Stevensville- really good burgers for a sorta fast food chain restaurant. Any of you people out there ever been in one? Anyway, this trip postponed our gotta-have-it Pizza day until Sunday. I tried my new, big mixer to make the dough (the now defunct bread machine made better dough!) and it worked okay for that. I grated my Parmesean, Romano, and Mozzarella in my new food processor, and I think I need more practice! It's done, it worked, and I may or may not try that again! Dialing in the sauces' flavor was a pain today too... As the picture shows,it all worked well, but you never hear Martha Stewart, Bobby Flay, or all the other experts tell you about the screw-ups getting there like I will.....

It looks incredible, screw-ups and all!
Yes my bread maker died to which makes the home made pizza more of a challenge. I'm tempted to buy a new one especially as you can pick up a cheap one in the supermarket but I only have so much space in the kitchen.
Cheers
Like I have always said "if you are going to miami and you have driven there before it doesnt matter which road you take as long as you get there, when all is said and done - you are in miami"
It looks good, whatever you did to it! I am SOOO ready for pizza and sauce and spices and ...anything not even remotely related to turkey and carbs!
You always make me so hungry LOL!
There is a casino about 3 hrs from here and I want to go so bad, need to talk hubby into that.
Glad you left with more $$!
I never tire of pizza...I should make it more often, since it's so easy.
jen- looked and tasted fine, but I usually don't have to fiddle around that much!
mcewen- I know exactly what you mean- space for another gadget is running out here!
DogB- I think I could have drove to Miami in less time !
beth- That's where we were at, too!
mel- Casinos are fun, and if you're a "people watcher", they can be very interesting!
UrbanV- A LITTLE more money! The next two weeks I gotta try and eat lighter- before the "Christmas- Food Everywhere" cycle kicks in...
So what did you do with my slice? You saved it for me,right? RIGHT?
oooh that pizza looks so yummy!! and i love that you made it a rectangle.
i've never been to this culver's. i've never seen one!
Ut oh....what happened? I hope you didn't wind up in the ER! lol.
The pizza looks great tho!
Peace
You screw up? I don't believe you! I want that pizza, do you deliver?
DutchB- Living it up in a suite with a jacuzzi, and you want my poor little pizza too?
Pink- A big cookie sheet has been the "Dad" pizza pan for twenty years! Culvers is mainly in the Midwest- I looked it up on their web site...
Odat- Making that pizza was like taking a trip to the DMV without leaving my kitchen!
Ake- I always "deliver", but wouldn't you like some pizza first? (He leered..)
Mr Gadget man, Santa won't know what to bring you, you seem to have everything. Maybe a new Bread maker??
I figured out what to do with all that leftover turkey...
no not put it on pizza! lol
After I boiled the carcass (sp?) for broth, shredded the leftover meat by hand and made turkey ball treats for the dogs! Wrapped them in foil and froze them!!! They LOVE it! (one takes medicine and I mixed it into the turkey!)
Ok and I made the biggest batch of turkey chili you have ever seen... ok perhaps YOUUUUUU have seen bigger, but for me its monumental! lol I dont love chili, but my boys do and it freezes great...
Ok I am dont on my rant. I was thinking about you and your pooch tonight though with all this turkey!
Whoa....that looks fantastic! You sure know how to get to a fat girl! ; )
I've done pizza dough in a bread machine and a mixer, and I like the bread machine better too!
That pizza looks awesome!
How about pizza for Thanksgiving?
Just a thought ... no need to throw your turkey baster at me!
Queenie- No room for a bread maker, but I've got my eye on a Belgian waffle maker! I won't fit in my stocking, but maybe if I hang up a pair of panyhose.....
kate- You have done things with leftover turkey that are illegal in 9 States! Frozen Turkey Balls??
We gotta franchise those!
R.L.L.- One of the women in the office bumped into me accidentaly at a door way. She laughed and said "Excuse me and my big butt". I leered at her and said, "I'll tell you when it's big and when you have to excuse it, Momma".. Thought she was gonna die laughing!
lynda- I guess I need practice with the mixer! We reheated what was left and I swear the crust was better with the extra baking..
Paul- The pizza places around here get super busy the day before and the day after Thanksgiving!
