Oatmeal, Cranberry, Walnut, White Choco Chip Cookies..
The master of overkill lives! These cookies were great, without the addition of white chocolate chips.... One, I don't really believe there is a thing as "White Chocolate Chips!" I do like them though... With the dried cranberries and walnuts- well, they worked out pretty OK! I like cookies to be crisp and soft at the same time- not always easy, but great when you nail it! I won't lie... these were crisp, and soft....but too soft.. They broke up easily, and didn't hold their shape as well as I hoped.. Flavor was great, a good mix of crunchy, sweet, and soft!
I am not the baker I wish I was... Baking is far more exacting and demanding of measurement than cooking! My hat is off today, to the people who visit here, and bake so beautifully!

white chocolate is made from the cocoa butter so there is no 'chocolate' in it - technically... soft and crunchy huh? how'd you do it?
Wowow great combination of flavors!
Everyone says cooking is more fun than baking. Baking needs to be so exact, but the combo of cranberries and walnuts and white chocolate is very tempting.
A total YUM Buff...when you wake up and a dozen are gone...it was me!
I think your cookies are just gorgeous.. geez that almost sounds like a come on in an odd sorta way;)
I love the combo you chose and bet they are yummy.
Now that is what I call yummmy!
f*ckin women go bonkers over cookies.
DogB- I like "white" chocolate for it's sweetening ability, without much of a taste to it..Soft and crunchy- a lot of unsalted butter, and checking the cookies by the minute (after 10 min.!), and moving the pans around the oven, if browning is uneven...
Karine- Welcome to the blog! I stopped by yours, and if I can find 6 more people, we'll be over for Lasagna!
Denise- I will cook head to head against any woman- but beyond baking great cheesecakes, I'd duck out of a "throwdown" baking contest with you ladies!
ChefE- I make a huge diameter cookie, but like them thin and crisp... I ate 4 or 5, but I'll deny it if you repeat it!
Donna- If cookies is what it takes....(he leered..) The sweetness of chips, the tart texture and flavor of the dried cranberries, and the crunch of the walnut chunks do actually go well together..
Darngirl- With milk or coffee, a plate can disappear..
Mr.C- "Candy is dandy, liquor is quicker- but the smart money is on the cookies!" Excerpt from "The Chronicles Of Buffalo Dick"...
Whatever they call it...It tastes GREAT!!
They look yummy Buff!
G-man- Just ate two with coffee for breakfast!
I never make cookies. Do you have any idea how many dozen my boys can eat per day? I won't frighten you with the answer. I like cranberry and white chocolate, so you can send some my way any time.
Now don't you be tempting me with your cookies Buff, you know I'm on a diet! LOL
Cookies!!!
OH my gosh those look so heavenly I might crawl through cyberspace to break in your house and try one. Could you please send some to DC????
Did you use butter?
From the looks (and sound of it) they turned out great! I prefer my cookies on the soft side, the gooier the better. :)
Cooking and baking. Works for me.
Cheers
It is something about the cranberry and white chocolate that makes me want to eat the whole plate and make your self to an hour of cardio because other wise it would be on my butt. Straight from the mouth to the butt...Men have it so much easier...
Marjie- I don't make cookies as much as I did when my sons lived here!
Ake- One won't hurt you- however, I don't think anybody can eat just one....
Gene- Wife didn't wipe them out yet- I can only conclude she isn't feeling well!
CDB- I almost added peanut butter, but stopped myself in time!
Scarlet- Crunchy vs. chewy.. Cookies might be my next Mini-meme...
Maddy- I don't measure when I cook, but I absolutely have to when baking!
Darngirl- Ours goes right around the belt buckle- if it still fastens!
yum cookies!! I'm a bigger fan of cooking...with exception to bread. I love the science needed a perfect loaf of sourdough!
Tavolini- I'm better at baking than I used to be, but I don't hit "fool-proof" often enough to get cocky about it...
Good comment for Mr. C nice!!!
I have been meaning to do a cookie post!! I have a couple nice recipes that you don't see in magazines. I am not sure who originally found them?? My mom gave them to me.
Hit40- Wait for my next post..it will be up by 3PM in the Great Midwest!
I made about 5 sheets of biscuits just last week..... I was home alone and bored and thought, ok, I know I aint suppose to be doing anything, but I wasnt told NOT to make biscuits LOL....
I was pleased with them, we dont make biscuits that often here.... 5 sheets all on cooling racks, when Jacob wanders in with 5 of his maties ..... gone in a bloody flash LOL....
Yours look way more scrummous then mine did.....
