Better than a year ago, I thought I was in a soup cook-off- but it got cancelled..Saturday we're going to hold one, kinda small(maybe 8 soups) but a lot of good cooks will be in it! As it will be a peoples choice, with the public being the judges- it will probably resemble a popularity contest instead of a competition! 3 or 4 cooks have already announced their entry, so everyone is trying to make something different. I was ready last time with a Mac-N-Cheeseburger soup, and with a few changes, that's what I'm bringing! This cold weather should guarantee a good turn-out... If I have time today, I may make some home made bread to go with the soup...
If you want to see a picture, or read ingredients check out my post around Nov 5-7 2007...

well that sounds really good! Take lots of pics! Good luck!
are you gonna make mini hamburger patties - I remember this soup -
deb- Thanks! Maybe I'll remember a camera this time!
DogB- This time just loose ground beef, addition of more tomato, and toying with pasta shape change..
Please show us some picture & do post the recipe after the competition is over!
I could do with some soup right now ( sniff Sniff...I feel a cold coming :(
I *pph* soup. And homemade bread. In case you're feeling generous.
Sounds great (I appreciate home cooking even if I am lacking in that area).
Kick some soup behind...
Mona- Hope you don't get sick... Will do a followup post..
Finn- Soup and home made bread, in a warm bath robe, on a snowy Michigan night- makes you very grateful for very little!
K- We'll see! Mine will be cream of tomato base, cheese sauce, and the other goodies you might find on a burger...
Best of luck to you!! :)
Thanks, Casdok... I always hope the best for you, too.. Your life and your mission has become so intwined- I just wish you got a chance to relax once in a while.. you could use it kid.. :)
Yum, you are right about tasty and healthy, but it can be done...I have been doing it for the past three months, I just need to exercise more...
I found the soup here! This looks good...cross my fingers for you!
Good luck Buff I'm sure you'll do great!
Chef- Making Amish bread to go with... we'll see!
Ake- Up against a beef barley, and a sweet pepper crab, it will be interesting!
Good luck Buff! The soup sounds wonderful!!
Let's see. I live in Ohio, and you live in Michigan -- it couldn't be that far....
Dana-I think I got a winner, but the smaller the contest...
Jeanne- Sounds like a road trip!
The last "new" soup I tried was a white chicken chili. Cpt Clueless hated it. I guess it had to many actual FLAVORS in it for him. I saved the rest for a much more (I thought) discriminating co-worker, who only informed me that the white beans are way potent! This is the thanks I get for trying.
Your a winner in my book never the less popularity...
ooohh that sounded bad I didn't mean that your not popular...
I meant your talented...;)
Good Luck Today UncleBuf!!!!!
I know your soup was a big hit before--I expect it to be again! :)

I've never really cared all that much for soups, but mac-N-cheeseburger soup? That sounds interesting!
Hoodchick- My Wicked White Chili has 4 first place trophies, a third in a city-wide main dish cook-off, and was featured in the local press- may want to try my recipe some day!
Darngirl- Three of the people in it are at that bar everyday!
Snow- Going for more tomato flavor this time...
jen- I just have to remember to keep it a little thinner than a casserole!
I'm sure you wiped out the competition!!
And I could very easily do with some Mac-N-Cheese soup...yesterday! Can I vegetarianize this with some TVP?
(yep, I'll ask!)
I just made chicken and corn soup and yesterday was Potatoe and Stilton.
How did you do?
Tav- Probably!
Belle- Chicken and corn chowder would have been a hit!
HAR- Middle of pack, but mine was the only one all gone!
Very nice pics taken by you.
