Yesterday on impulse, we took an alternate route back up to the same casino we visited earlier last week. We saw quite a few Turkeys with chicks(saw that at the casino too! Different species!) and everything is green, green, green. Another month, and the colors will hit the leaves, and a month past that- no leaves!
We got to the casino quite early, but it filled up quick-being a holiday week end. Stopped for a quick burger on the way home- both of us remarking we were spoiled by cooking our own at home so much!
Today, the steaks are marinating, the dark chocolate brownies w/ white choco chips on top are cooling, the carrot muffins and fresh corn has arrived from the store via my wife, and I think that should suffice for todays dinner! I may add a picture later if I feel I can "plate it" properly before lunch! Like everyone, I dread going back to work Tuesday-it's getting harder all the time....

I can feel Autumn on the way here as well. Back to work and dark days. Well at least I can get out the stew pan again.
Meredic- I am somewhere around 1/4 English in my mutt makeup. It allows me to understand the Brits and actually enjoy their humour, culture, and quirks. I think you and I might have fun comparing the differences between Yanks and Brits!
NO NO dont mention the evil "w" word...I still have a few more hours left of this holiday!
Dinner sounds delicious!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend! Lador Day weekend always reminds us that it's one on the last ones we'll be enjoying outside activities.
I went on an ATV ride and had a blast till I lost balance and hit both legs under that bull-of-a-machine... I'm fine though.. just had to patch up one leg and they both look as if I've bee beatten up! What a story I'll have to tell my students tomorrow! LOL
Looking forward to that yummy looking pict! ;-)
I feel your pain. I am going back to work Wed after a long absence. I don't mind my job just half of the people there get on my nerves.
Sounds like a great time had, as well as yummy food devoured. Come on, you're ready to go back, I'm sure you are ; )
Mel- Dinner wasn't too bad! Work will be everything I expect!
Nancybee-Hope you're OK! No picture- We ate it before photos were thought of....
har- Good point. Most of us don't mind the work, it's the people annoying us while we're doing it!
Jen- Good luck at your new job- must be exciting!
hi ho hi ho its off to work.....
Dogb- Do you still have a blog? I keep getting- you can't come in...
Chocolate brownies...yum! We went to my favorite restaurant, Cheesecake Factory, then to see a movie. An untraditional Labor Day, I know, but I really enjoyed it.
ahhh Buff...You and Dog kill me with the food man!!! I wanna come to your house.
Getting cold here the old sweater is coming out. Excuse my ignorance what is Labour Day over the lake??
Our labor day was without labor as well... We grilled a leg of lamb and served it with french lentils and of course, we consumed much wine!
Back to work eh? I know the feeling! :(
It's creeping close to Fall around here. The bean fields are turning yellow and there's one pesky tree near my house that is already turning to orange. I pulled over and had a long talk with it and told it to slow the hell down.
Steph- A day off is for you to do what you want-so you did!
Beth- I had 2 Brats last night I enjoyed more than the steak!
Queenie- Labor Day is usually the first Monday in Sept. It is a National holiday that celebrates the American worker- some unions still organize parades on this day.
Michelle ann-Leg-O-Lamb is one of my favorites!
ake- A good friend at work is leaving for another job Wed. and I don't blame her, but it leaves me with no real good friends where I work.
Sornie- We haven't had that cold snap yet, but it will come...
I'm not ready for Fall. I feel like summer never got here this year.
Mine was uneventful too. But it was nice to have the day off to spend with the wife and daughter.
yeah...i had to go back after a few weeks off. now THAT was hard.
mm...dark chocolate brownies...
Aw honey, you have loads of friends here though! :)
Funny how going out to dinner use to be a treat. I prefer a home cooked meal myself.
We tend to eat out too much though.
UrbanV- I have had more enjoyable summers, too!
Mike- Seems like when you go back to work, you've got4 days to do 5 days work..
Tanya- Hope you had alot of fun while off!
Ake- Since my last comment about losing a coworker, another guy I got along with left the company too..
lynda- Sometimes one is better than the other...
